Trouble with the Download

Is anyone else having any issues downloading the Special Edition? Mine downloads up to 3.6 GB and then won't continue - I keep getting an error message. I've deleted the all the files and restarted the download but it still only goes up to 3.6 GB... (o_0)

any ideas?

I've changed the Download Region/Server Region and it still only downloads to 3.6 GB and then stops and tells me I've an error and need to contact support. FURY

I've been having the same issue for days now. Please will you tell me how you solved it eventually. I've been looking forward to playing Skyrim for months and now this silly error is stopping me :'(

1) The first time I had the problem( download stops at 3.6 GB) I paused the download, restarted steam and restarted my PC and all didn't work.
2) So I used steam's "delete local content" option for the game and started the download again. For a second time the download stopped at 3.6 GB.
3) This time I did an uninstall through windows then started downloading the game from scratch yet again. The download again stopped at 3.6 GB.
4) After searching for possible solutions online I tried the suggestion of changing my location through steam. Exact same result with that attempt.
5) Finally, last night I even tried installing the game on a friends computer, and believe it or not, the download stopped at 3.6 GB

That's 5 attempts all of which have failed.
Please note that when the download stops, it is just the disk writing that fails (Green line) while the network (blue bars) continue to eat up about 8 Mbps.
Also, the first time the error occurred was after a power cut, but disk error wouldn't explain why the download also failed on my friend's PC. I ran a disk error check just to be sure and windows reported no errors found.

Setup:
8Mbps connection.
Windows 10 home 64

Crucial MX300 750gb SSD
16 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 2400MHz RAM
Asus Z170 Sabertooth S Motherboard
Core i3-6100 CPU
Zotac GTX 1060 Mini Graphics Card
Corsair RM750x PSU

Country: South Africa
Country I temporarily changed my location to: Egypt

Check with your isp. There may be a daily download limit. Especially if it stops at or near the same point.

Are you from South Africa? I've seen several threads in the last few days that tracked the problem back to one ISP and a DNS error. Try setting your primarey DNS to 8.8.8.8 and restart the download.

That can't be it mate. I have uncapped internet and I've downloaded bigger games in the last few days.

Yes, I'm in South Africa with Afrihost as my ISP. Thank you :) I'll look into the problem relating to them and try that DNS solution

Please forgive the late reply - I've barely used steam this past year. It did indeed seem to be network issue - not sure what exactly. A friend downloaded the game for me on his home network and I copied the game files (or maybe the back up files - can't quite remember.) I used those files to install the game and it worked.
