Get Rid of Sprint Toggle
Or at least give me the option to choose whether I want it to toggle or hold. Why on earth they would just change it without giving the player the choice is beyond me. It's SO annoying! Not to mention the response time on the control is crap. I just can't get used to it and it doesn't make sense to me. I want them to add the option of choice since there's no mod available for it (yet). If you're a mod developer, get on that. You'll be everyone's best friend.

Annoys me, too.

I wonder if there's an ini tweak for it? Too lazy to google it myself.

I had a Google and all I found was complaints, but no solutions.

Best feature ever, why would you want to get rid of it? I can toggle sprint and press C for cruise control while still being able to turn left or right! If anything, they could've added the ability to jump while sprinting.

I play with a controller, it's crap. I've never played a single game with sprint toggle, ever. It's just not a feature I would ever want in a game. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ feature and it's even more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ not giving the option.

Because it makes movement more mechanical and it interferes with sprinting short distances in combat because you have to fight the auto sprint. It also ruins the quick transition from sprinting to sneaking because until you stop sprinting the sneak key rarely processes which ruins immersion.

The only positive thing is you can auto sprint, but really how useful is that when your stamina drains so quickly while sprinting. I would rather have responsive controls when controlling my character.

They need to fix it so when you press the sneak key it disables auto sprint and you go into sneak mode quickly or give us an option to deactivate the sprint toggle and use hold to sprint.

This is my only complaint. Admitedly I have played less than 2 hours because of this. Never have I used a toggle for a sprint or run (games that only walk/run) action in all my years of gaming (pc and console).

And before someone checks my profile age I've been gaming since before steam existed. My old account was linked to an email address I stop using whilst I worked really long, stupid hours that pretty much destroyed anytime I had for gaming. I opted for ps2 and ps3 for simpler/quicker gaming when possible and couldn't remember login details or access old account when I came back to pc thanks to a career change.

Gimme hold to sprint please. Original ps3 and pc version was push to sprint. Spent hundreds of hours playing Skyrim and I hold to sprint is second nature to me. Muscle memory, instinct, almost automatic.

i play with a controller and so far it have not really annoyed me, i noticed it at first but just ignored it and moved on

it's just a result of a lazy console port to pc because they changed it to better match more modern console control schemes and dynamics, unlikely they'll fix it for this reason which sucks because movement feels way more mechanical because of this

Well someone will mod it eventually. We'll have to keep our eyes out for it.

Did I miss something here? Where exactly does it say Skyrim is a console port to PC?

It is just how it works these days, people blame console everytime there is a problem with the game even if they clearly dont know much about the game and console ports...

You realise he's actually right. It is because of the console controls that the PC ones are like that. They were just too lazy to change it. This Special Edition was made for consoles because that was the version that actually needed upgrading. It doesn't look much different on the PC because it always looked that good.

/signed. I'd really like this to be changed.
