Skyrim SE FPS drop issue, alt+tab in and out temporarily fixes it.
Hello all,
I am having an issue keeping my fps while playing skyrim se (vanilla/modded - doesn't matter) @normal. What I mean by normal is that when starting the game my fps is between 70 to 75. From what i've noticed, If I do anything that acts as an in game pause, (looting, crafting, loading into another area, looking at items/quests, etc) my fps will drop significantly, to about 40 to 45. If I alt+tab out and in it seems to fix it temporarily, until I pause again. I've looked at my clock speeds in the different situations and the numbers are as follows;

[ State: fps / clock speed / gpu core temp ]

In game normal: 70-75fps / 1836mhz / 63-67celcius
paused: 40-45fps / 1343mhz / 60-63celcius

this dip does not happen with any other game, except for fallout 4 (the other Bethesda game). At times my game even starts lagging and stuttering really bad (Both in skyrim se and fallout 4). Again, alt-tab fixes that temporarily but it's been very annoying to do so every few mins or so. I've tried several graphics card driver versions as well as a clean install of the game both games, no luck. I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this as well and if anyone has insight to this issue. I'll leave my PC specs at the bottom for reference.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Memory 8,192 MB
Core clock 1,835 MHz
Memory bus clock 1,251 MHz
Driver version 21.21.13.7570
Intel Core i7-5930K
core clock 3,000 MHz
turbo core clock 3,749 MHz
# of cores 6
Operating system 64-bit Windows 10 (10.0.14393)
Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. X99-DELUXE
Memory 16,384 MB, 4 Modules, Corsair DDR4 @ 2,998 MHz
800 GB NVMe INTEL SSD

I'm using g-sync capped @75hz
Tried capping at 60hz but it made no difference.
Again, this issue happens on both games, vanilla and lightly modded.

Let me know if anyone would like any additional information.

Thanks Fam!

I found another temporary fix. I set my ivsyncinterval from 1 to 0. my frames jumped to 95. I was concerned about physics issues so i decided to cap my gsync monitor to 75hz. While playing my fps would still fluctuate from 70 to 79. So I installed ENB tools and used its fps capping option and set it to 70fps. Everything looks great now, however, I would experience random screen tearing (yes, even with a gsync monitor) but only at the bottom of the screen. Not too immersive breaking. Still, much better than what i was dealing with before. My fps sits at a consistant 70fps and the game is looking even better with Revamped's enb settings and shaders. This leads me to believe that the way skyrim handles frame rendering is kinda funky overall and this frame capping i've been experiencing was a quick fix to 2011 skyrims terrible frame skipping issue. If anyone is interested in following up with more insight just leave a comment, im open to corrections and clarifications. im still curious about what exactly is the issue.
