How to spend early gold?
Hello all! I've being playing with a Sword and Shield on Legendary difficulty, and with no followers. Right now I have 3k gold. Was wondering what was the best route to spend my money. Things I thought:

1 - Buy a house (unload some weight).
2 - Spend this money on level Smithing (had not spent any point here yet).
3 - Level enchanting (no point too). For this I would also buy a soul trap weapon, use it, and DE it for further uses.

Any other suggestions are good too! Thanks!

If you wanna go smithing Then smith as many iron daggers as possible easy to level

Yeah you can smith iron daggers then enchant them (read fear works well for sale value) to level both skills. Though you're going to need that house to store the stock pile of daggers you'll have waiting on enchantments.

House will set you back 5k and around another 1000 to furnish it...

Buy a horse?

I always get a cheap house first, then a horse.

I spent my first 6-7 k gold on a house + rooms and horse
Now with immersive armors on SSE i found my gold sink again

Looks like the faster method if you wanted to level your smithing and make money would be to get the transmute mineral ore spell and use it on iron ore to make gold ore, then make rings and enchant those. Alternatively you could go to Kolskeggr Mine east of Markarth http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Kolskeggr_Mine_(Location)?file=Kolskeggr_mine_map.jpg you sholud attain around 50 gold ore from there, enough to make 50 gold rings which sell for around 1250 with no enchants.

I recomend just grind some cash and spend on 2 things:

1) House, where you can store your stuff
2) Good or rare enchanted armour/weapons that you can buy from shop keepers, especially on amulets or rings that provide health, magic, stamina boost or magic resistances.

A house is very convenient.

And invest in a stash of alchemy ingredients. Once alchemy is at a decent level, potions are very useful and some potions cab be sold for a high price.

Sell stuff. Buy iron ignots. Craft nails. BECOME LEGEND.

Once you can upgrade your items well - you won't have any problems with money - nothing would be problem.

One of the nearby bandit camps ( near Whiterun) has a transmute spell that can turn iron ore into silver then gold... Is a great way to level smithing and enchanting if you have the talent to cast it ;)

You can also join a guild if you're starting out and need safe storage. Besides you'll need 5K at least for a house. I saved up about 10k then got Breezehome on my current playthrough that way I was able to get all of the rooms and stuff and had some gold to spare.

With just 3k horses are a good invsestment. Buying training is cheaper at lower levels and is also a good investment.

You'll be amazed how quickly you can collect items. You should be able to get a couple thousand gold on each quest you do. Get a companion to help carry loot. Soon you'll have so much gold you won't know what to do with it.

grind those iron daggers to infinity
