That Enchanting/Alchemy glitch fixed?
I've seen several videos about a glitch you can do with armour enchanted with fortify alchemy and potions of fortified restoration, yet when I try to do it on ps4 it doesn't work. Did they fix it?

If you have the Unoffical Patch installed than it won't work because the Patch "fixed it" Along with Necromage Vampire

I don't have any mods installed, or anything that would change the game.I just got it and played.

Then you might be doing the Restoration Loop wrong because it works just fine for me. What steps are you doing? Also do you have the correct perks? The steps I do is as followed

1. Enchant a full gear of Fortify Alchemy Gear.
2. Make Fortify Restoration Potion.
3. Remove Alchemy Gear.
4. Drink Potion.
5. Put back on the Alchemy Gear.
6. Make another Fortify Restoration Potion.
7. Repeat 1-6 until you have a Restoration Potion you're satisfied with.
8. Remove Alchemy Gear
9. Drink Restoration Potion
10. Put on Alchemy Gear
11. Make Enchanting Potion/Smithing Potion (make a lot. like 20 of each)

Becareful not to go to high on making the Restoration Potion or else you'll get negative numbers and kill everything you've been working toward.

Thanks, as it turns out I was doing something wrong. It's going up.
It's slow though, what perks should I get to speed it up? I ended up running out of ingredients

Not a glitch. It's an exploit.

SAVE OFTEN!

You'll need all the Alchemy perks up to Poisoner. 5 levels of Alchemist for sure.

Once you get your first Enchanting potion that does at least 20%, use that to enchant a new Alchemy item, then use that in yout Alchemy loop.

Not sure if there's a difference, but I don't remove the Alchemy gear until after I drink the potion. Equip, create, drink, remove. Creating several identical potions may or may not allow them to stack, but as long as they are slightly different in level, they'll stack. If each time you create a potion the percentage increases, it should start going up exponentially. I usually cap my Restoration Potions at 20,000% because anything above that becomes highly unstable.

Once you have a high-rated Restoration potion, enchant one Alchemy item with it active and that one item should generate a high-rated potion by itself without needing to do the Loop again.

Snowberries and Blue Butterfly Wings for Enchanting potions, Salt Piles and either Abecean Longfin or Cyrodiilic Spadetails for Restoration potions. The fish can be found in some abundance in the lake outside Riften without too much hassle, just avoid Goldenglow Estate and the Fort with the wolves and Bandits. I typically pull about 20 fish out of there.

Blue Butterflies can be troublesome, but if you've at least got Fus, you can knock them down. The first word of Slow Time is also handy here, since you won't have to hunt for them under the new taller grass.

Unrelenting Force will also kill fish, which will drift with the current, but they may also fall through the map before you can collect them.

You don't need poisoner. I just go to Benefactor and stop there. Why take Poisoner? I assume to make poison yeah. But if you make smithing/enchanting potions your weapon is going to do so much damage that the poison will never take effect.

Like what? I installed the Unofficial patch but I really do enjoy the resto pot exploit when the game gets a little stale.

if you want to make like a poison that completely removes the enemy's magicka/stamina, or just to sell.

Not merely an academic distinction. As the exploit means the game is functioning as intended, but producing unintended outcomes.

But from what I understand, this exploit is self-limiting, because of multiplicative diminishing returns, and the real issue here is NOT the Fortify restoration loop, but the NECROMAGE loop, because the Necromage loop essentially doubles the "Upper Limit" of where the Fortify Restoration loop naturally ends. However, even the Necromage version of this loop is self limiting, Albeit, well into the 1,000+ damage on basic weapons. Non Necromage version stops at like 450 with a sword, around 600 with a Warhammer.

I typically only use the fortify restoration loop to get nice round numbers like 45/50 instead of 44, 49. My autism demands this.

Since the thread was Necro'd anyway, I didn't say to take Poisoner. I said take the perks UP TO Poisoner, not INCLUDING Poisoner.
