Yeah, it's kind of boring leveling them up every game. Not even hard, apart from dwarven metal I get most of the materials just by buying out vendor stocks, it's just really time consuming.
And having them all to 100 just breaks the game even without resto loops. Even on Legendary, my 97 point life leech on a 1.3k damage weapon is enough to basically keep me at full HP while one to three shotting just about anything, not even counting potions.
Yeah, I do the archetypes as well... it's annoying because it means I'll never have a single save where I know every shout, because on no single save do I want to join the companions, college of winterhold (except to the level you're forced to for the main quest), and thieves' guild at the same time, and each of them quest locks some of the word walls. So does the Dark Brotherhood but I think you can still get that one if you do the "destroy the dark brotherhood" option.
Really? And to think I wasted time using rubber bands on my xbox controller for hours to get to level 120
I'd have to stop every 10-15 mintues to go and reset the skill getting 4-5 levels each time...
Yup, if you have gear to get the magicka cost to 0, and you fast-travel while holding an object w/ telekinesis, the game assumes you held the object for the length of time corresponding to the hours that passed while you quick traveled. Even a fairly short jump can give you 15->100 in one go.
It's not really a cheat, it's a adept Alteration spell. If you're a mage/thief build it's really useful to steal items with. You can also fling items at NPC's, but it just makes them hostile and doesn't do a lot of damage.
I think it was more useful in Oblivion because there were welkyn stone found in Alyeid ruins that were out of reach and you either used Telekinesis or shot it with an arrow to get them.
But yeah, using it grind your alteration skill is kinda' an exploit since you can do it over and over by making the skill legendary and rack up the perk points.
I then power leveled from 32 to 44 when I made the skill legendary it gave me no skill pts. I only invested 1 skill point in novice level. So I don't quite understand why I did not get any skill points back. I tried it again when I made my present lev. 45 and still noo skill pts. Is this the way its syposed to work?
So when you went from level 32 to 44 you got 12 perk points. When you make your illusion skill legendary you can then power level again and keep getting perk points. Any perk points spend in the skill tree will be given back when you reset the skill, otherwise you can just keep leveling and accumulating perk points.
If you make a skill tree legendary (let's say the skill tree is Alchemy) you'll get the skill points back that you have invested in that skill tree. If you haven't invested skill points in that specific tree, you won't get anything, since there is nothing to give back.
You can of course then start again with leveling in that skill tree to gain skill points.
In general it's a bad idea to grind in skills that you don't really use. It's only a good idea if you need skill points and can't get them an other way.
Let's say you have just reached level 60 in Archery. You can now increase the damage from Archery, but you don't have a skill point to do so. If your close to the next general level, it can be worth it to do some power leveling with an underdeveloped skill (like block or illusion if you haven't used them much) since underdeveloped skills are easier to increase.
I suggest that if you are going to grind, do so in really useful general skills like Alchemy, Archery and Smithing.
Increasing those will make you more powerful than increasing in level.
You level up when you increase your illusion
when you level up you gain skill points
as in, your character level increases based on your illusion skill. You don't gain a perk point because your illusion went from 49>50 you gain it when your character level goes from 49>50(or any other level).
you know your character leveled up because you'll get the option to increase your magicka/health/stamina
making a skill legendary simply resets it so you can level it up again in order to have it contribute to the character level.
yes there was a soumd and the skill bar centered on illusion which read 15 BUT NO skill pts were avaliable.
I did invest 1 skill pt. to purchase novice skill in illusion back on level 20, when I started power leveling illusion. 100% was reached by casting muffle including the aformentioned 3 game days casting the muffle till legendary was reached.
I think I will just keep it and NO MORE POWER LEVELING!!!
thanks for trying to help an old guy
