I use a controller but I don't think there is any real advantage. The game was made with consoles in mind and I perfer the combat with a controller over the mouse, It seems to work better when trying to do heavy or soft swings for me.
Yeah i see. The main reason why i feel like changing over to acontroller is because like for example the dialouge it keeps bugging out and i always accidentaly choose the wrong one or when im buying/selling it will keep closing. Also what controller do you use

I use a Xbox 360 controller and it does work good in this games menu's and even works great with SkyUI if that ever get ported to Skyrim SE.

I use a Logitech F710 wireless controller. I like it better than the XBox ones, but use it in Xbox mode (X Input – the new standard) for Skyrim most of the time and Direct Input (the older standard) for some other games. I use it mainly for convenience since I'm a couch gamer. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse too, and prefer them for game control overall in terms of capabilities, but they're not as practical to use.

I started using the controller when power leveling, actually, as I could switch modes and still hold my shield up without having to press anything, using block as a character leveling skill and perk generator. I just got used to it enough and manage well enough with it now that I don't really need to bother with the keyboard and mouse, even though I do think they're technically superior, especially in close quarters turning fights and with aiming a bow.

Being a single player game though, the competition and skill level of the game doesn't really require a keyboard and mouse in general.

I suppose technically the analog stick for directional movement allows for better control than the digital inputs of the WASD keys, but I personally don't think that makes up for the lack of control with a mouse over the other analog stick. Pointing precisely is a bit more important.

I always use a Xbox 360 controller for Skyrim. The UI and general controls are way more controller friendly.

I prefer Oblivion, Fallout New Vegas, and Fallout 4 on keyboard, though. Which is weird.

If you're comfortable with a controller, go for it. The game is not PC friendly when it comes moving around with anything other than the WASD setup. My brain can only handle the 'move with mouse, attack with keyboard'. WOW style.

I was hoping they would add better key binding with SSE. I have a usable setup, but once you mess with the mouse buttons (or 'E' key), the menus turn to crap.

I'd be interested in how others deal with that.

KB+M, but with UI mods.
Keyboard and mouse here.

I think controllers are better for third person only action games.
KB+M for me as well, as I can't hit the broad side of a barn with a controller :P

Menu and dialogue navigation are definitely much easier with a one, however.

Key and M, for me, as well. Aside from not being able to stand the clicky sound that's made when moving an Analog stick as far left, or right as possible, Controllers aren't nearly as accurate, and I don't like wasting Arrows, or my time if I miss a shout.
I use a controller, find it more relaxing to sit back and chill with it. It's not a disadvantage in this game really, there's not much pinpoint precision required and the menu's are all designed for use with a controller. I've used both XBox One and PS4 controllers with it, both are fine.

Apparently this mod [www.nexusmods.com] works with Special Edition. I haven't tried it myself on this version but it worked well for original Skyrim.
Can you give me the mods

The big one is SkyUI 2.2, but there's a bunch of other sorting mods on the Nexus that I'm still testing as well.
My daughter runs through Skyrim in 3rd person using a logitech gamepad. It's only advantage I think, is the ability to walk/sneak/run with throttle precision.
