How clear 13,000 gold bounty?
Sooo I'm in a bit of a pickle. I decided one day I'd fill some black soul gems by shanking a few whiterun guards. Although in the short term I didn't see an issue with it, since I'd be able to pay a guard a bribe and tell him to bugger off.

So after killing 5 or so guards I decided to sheath my weapons and talk to a guard. No alternate options came up, and I certainly wasn't paying 5000+ gold for a bounty! So I made the decision that I would just kill every guard in whiterun, and just keep killing them as they respawn, since towns people don't give a crap as long as you don't touch them.

Well I got really sick of doing this after a little while and decided to try and pay my bounty somehow, so I dropped all my stolen items in a box in my house, and went to jail, grabbed my stuff, and escaped only to see an army of guards outside dragonsreach to greet me and tell me to get back in my cell o_0 I've never seen the guard union so incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off. I don't know what to do here and I'm not paying 13600 gold.

EDIT: Stop telling me to serve jail time, I already cleared the bounty.

EDIT AGAIN: I'm not responding to replies anymore and I am unsubscribing to the post, so I won't see any replies from now on.

Yeah, you'll have to avoid Whiterun for a while, get some cash flow back
LAG Nov 18, 2016 @ 1:34am
if it's PC you could always add 13600g

alternatively, serve your sentance or pay the bounty.

so do bounties slowly go down over time? Because originally my bounty was like 25000....

I'm not gonna use console commands, I don't like cheating in any way shape or form.

if you have a house you can always store you money then just go to jail. that should clear your bounty if i remember right.

but theft and murder is ok?

high moral values coming from someone who had no problems picking off whiterun guards at several intervals lol.

Hey honor among thieves man. And yes I have no problem with guard genocide.

*Edit* Ironically I am playing a thief style class for the first time in skyrim :P

Good point.. Where was the karma police when you went around slaughtering everyone? Oh, it is part of the game? Well cheating is just as well.

oh so you are labed kill on site then? also i don't know if the bountys go down over time.i do not think they do. you may have to look it up on UESP.com or elder scrolls wiki.

Join the stormcloaks, and then when you take Whiterun, your bounty will be reset.
Or serve your time in prison
Or go to prison, but then escape unseen.

If he doesn't want to use exploits or console commands, then that's his choice, no reason to get all triggered and **** :P

But yeah, you escaped the jail cell? If so, I don't think that count as serving your time in jail... You have to sleep in that bed. But Rotiart has some good examples there of how to get rid of the bounty.
