Where to find soulrender?

I just defeated that pirate ghost (soooo reminded me of south park when I did this quest), got all the armour from the treasure map, and picked up that sword from his corpse.
And it says it has abilities that work when used with soulrender. Where do I find that? I don't seem to have any more questline for this, so I'm wondering if I am missing something, or if I will end up coming across it during another quest or something?

Found by the skeletal remains of Haknir Death-Brand in Gyldenhul Barrow at the conclusion of the quest "Deathbrand". Entrance to the tomb requires an Ancient Nordic Pickaxe as Stalhrim covers the entrance.

Yea I went in there, found the skeletal remains, defeated the ghost.
The only thing there was the other sword, not the soulrender.

The other sword is called bloodscythe, I just looked.
And I am currently back in that cave, have searched all around the tomb and no sign of soulrender. Have even got myself stuck down the back of the skeleton, thinking maybe it had fallen down there.
Nope.

Really scratching my head with this one.

Is that quest on solstiem? Pretty sure soulrender is part of vanilla. Something sounds wrong to me there.

Yes, it's there. I don't have that quest to find the pirate treasure any more, but this one sword still says it has benefit only when used alongside another sword.

one sword is with on the table the other one is one the ghostly remains of deathbrand. So one the slightly darker blue puddle on the floor.

He didn't leave any remains different to the other ghosts of his crew.
All just say the same, ghostly remains or something.
The only remains of his there is the skeleton, and the first sword was lying next to it.

there really should be ghostly remains of deathbrand ... I know for sure did the quest a couple of hours ago.

Must have glitched then, because I looked as soon as he died and he left only ghostly remains, with the same piddling loot as his crew, a little gold and maybe a silver ring or something.

I promise, you, I searched the whole room, every ghostly remains, and that was all that was there. I have been there twice now looking.

And now I'm stuck looking for the steward of that douche in the mushroom tower. She is supposed to be near the sun stone, but I can't find her. I know she should be dead and near some ash spawn monsters, but I killed those and can't find her corpse anywhere.

well that is probably glitched too you have your luck cut out this play through it seems.

Worst thing is that this is my first playthrough :)

I had the game since forever, and always meant to get into it but knew it was a big time sink, so other games always kept coming up, and it ended up going further down the "to-play" list.
When the special edition was announced, I figured that was as good an excuse as any to buy the last DLC I didn't have and play it through properly.

I have had mostly no real issues, until I came to solsteim.
