Ancient Technology on Solstheim

So, I've been wanting to do a playthrough that starts with the Dawnguard, without touching anything dragon related. Unfortunately, the first Ancient Technology quest wants to send me to Solsthiem, effectively screwing that up in every way possible. I do have a back up save, but no matter how many times I reload it, it sends me to the same place.

Is there a way of having it send me somewhere else? Something to make the RNG go elsewhere?

Assume it is too late to uninstall Dragonborn.

If the data is already baked into the save, no, you are going to have to go where the quest sends you unless you want to break your game.

I don't think you actually have to start the main questline to go to Solstheim? Then again, I've never tried to go there until I was a higher level.

If you know where the guy in the boat is, go talk to him and see if he'll take you there even if you haven't started the main quest line.

And note, quest-specific dragons can still spawn in even if you haven't started the main questline. I know for a fact this is true of Dawnguard. Never tried it with the dragonborn quest though. I've only ever done it twice.

You are forced to go there within about 4 or 5 dragon kills or else you will never get another dragon soul without it being stolen from you

There is one mod called "Quests are in Skyrim"

I use it and it works.
Install it and load one OLD save before you take up the quest. There is no other way.


And you can go to Soilstiem at any point. And dont have dragon souls whit you.

I use Dragonborn Delayed. You can set it for what point in the time line you want it to activate.

But still can you go there, Dragonborn will not start for going there.
It is the cultist that start it up.

Hmm, been quite a while since I played but I seem to remember trying it and going to Solstheim didnt activate it unless you did the first quest. Not positive on that though.

Dragonborn starts whit the cultists and they come after you have been to the old dudes and learn some shouts.
If you only kill them and dont take the letter the quest will not start at all. But if you read the letter it starts up.

Between Oldrym and SE , about 100 play throughs, must have 3000 hrs in this game and ya know, I never tried that.

After around 7000 hours or more there is somethings that have got stuck :P

If you dont read the letter there will be more of those cultist coming. God killing dummys.

I can't find it in the ingame mod menu. Where do I put the file and how do I activate it?
