Calcelmo wants a destroyed item
I bought some “Dwarven Boots of Evasion” for the enchantment (a modded enchantment). After I destroyed them in order to learn the enchantment, I got a letter from Calcelmo saying he wanted them. It’s very unlikely that I will find an identical item and there’s no dialogue to tell Calcelmo the item is destroyed. How can I get this quest out of my journal?

Find another one and submit it.

Fair Warning, even after you complete this quest, if you buy any other Dwemer gear from a city, Calcelmo's Spider Sense will go off and he'll request that too.

Rather than looking around randomly for a new pair of these boots, you could also try enhance one regular with the said enhancement, that might work.

Personally, my favorite is when Calcelmo asks for a single Dwarven arrow.

Self enchanting doesn't work, because it's hooked to a <refid> specific to that item. So only looted/bought premade stuff works.

open console and type
help "dwarven boots of evasion" press enter
Type player.additem 000000 1 press enter
the zeros represent the item id you should see for them after you entered the help command

PS: USE the quotation marks when searching an item with more than one word

Calcelmo doesn't always get what he wants

Normally you have the option to tell him that you don't have the item anymore ...

There is, but no dialogue that stops the quest.

Annnd it’s gone. Thank you.

Last I checked you can tell calcelmo you no longer have the item, which fails the quest.

Nah, he just says something like "Well if you remember where you put it, bring it to me."
