I would back up to the previous versions of SSE and SKSE and see if it works.
I just rolled back to older version of the game and SKSE. I'm still running it with no probs and with old saves.
I've done that over... 100 times by now, to learn HOW to deal with it (modding).
First... you need a FRESH installation and STORE THAT folder (untouched) somewhere with the master files cleaned. So, any time you'll f*ck up the game, you simply DELETE THE ENTIRE SSE folder and RE-COPY-PASTE back the fresh-cleaned-vanilla running fine folder.
Second... every time you installing a new mod or a "category" of mods to be more exact (for example, base textures/meshes packs), you enter the game and with the "tmm 1" (visible all map markers) you fast-travelling EVERYWHERE and checking the game for stability.
The "Arthmoor's Live Another Life" mod is perfect for TESTING the mods you installing - then, when you finish, you need to REMOVE THAT MOD because it's causing a lot issues to several areas, quests, etc.
Third... you need to know to MANUALLY PLACING THE CORRECT LOADING ORDER - and more, to installing the mods WITH THE CORRECT ORDER (to avoid unnecessary moves within the loading order). ...AVOID using the LOOT tool. LOOT is just checking the dependency of one mod towards the others and simply moves it (changing the loading order). But, perhaps will create more troubles than solving. Therefore, you need to know YOU, how to and where to place the correct order. And even more, to INSTALL the mods with the correct order. Take a look to that, from my "BOSS Guide SSE" that follows...
Place your mods into “categories” – in your mind or on a paper. THESE “categories” have specifically order to be loaded. Generally, this is the CORRECT ORDER for all your mods you’ll install (starting from top after the main official plugins):
- Patches and bug fixes (like USSEP, Cutting Room Floor, Blacksmith water fix)
- Big mods / overhauls that affect the entire game (like the master file of Climates of Tamriel, skyBirds, Apachii hair)
- Quest mods (all the “unofficial DLCs” & quests we installed, like Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, Beyond Reach)
- Environments / weather overhauls (like the main master file of Claralux, Lanterns of Skyrim, NAT)
- Large add-ons and cities / towns / land expansions (like JK’s Riverwood, JK’s Whiterun, Dawnstar Overhaul)
- Flora, trees and plants / grass mods for the entire game (like Simply Bigger Trees, Immersive Fallen Trees)
- More buildings or elements to current cities/towns/areas (like Bring out your Dead, More Bandits Camps, Elysium Estate)
- Gameplay changes / tweaks / add-ons such as combat / magic / perks / etc (like Smilodon, Shout, More tavern Idles)
- Changes / add-ons to NPCs (like Diversity, WICO, SuperbSerana, Sofia, Inigo)
- Visual / textures / atmospheric changes (like Better Dynamic Snow, No Snow Under the Roof, Footprints )
- Sound / audio / FX alterations (all the sound & music mods you want to use)
- Menu & interface changes, player & NPC inventory (like SkyHUD, More Map Markers, Sovngarde font)
- Character & Creatures model replacements (like Mammoth, Bellyaches Animal and Creatures)
- Weapons / armor / clothing add-ons / additions(like Immersive Armors, Immersive Weapons, Weapons of the 3rd Era)
- Crafting mods (like ArsMetallica)
- items (like Wearable Lanterns, Left Hand Ringsetc.)
- Weapon / armor / clothing alterations(like Bandoleers)
- Specific mods that need to be loaded at the bottom as directed by the mod author
- Mods that remove graphical effects, like disabling godrays, to improve performance – this goes last to ensure that all mod added effects get disabled too
Of course I did, since I was "newbie" and I wanted to fast-mod the game (and screwed up).
Now... after so many times... after 2 years of modding... I've learned. And my "BOSS Guide" proves that, a lot people followed my guide.
Will give warnings and errors but pertaining to mods missing duplicated etc.
You need to look at your mods with Xedit for conflicts.
Depending on what Mod Manager you use. I use MO2 this also will show issues in overwrite and issues in Data column (these will be in red writing).
Loot does not always place mods correctly (dependent on manually sorting mods prior making list available to work for you when using it)
It is a guide but left side of MO2 you can manually change the mods to suit over/under writes.
Thanks for posting. I will use this going forward.
