Horse has a disease how do I cure it?

Started playing Skyrim SE again and found it to be fun started level 1, been running for a while on my horse all is good and well but when fighting the 5-6th pack of wolves

my horse got that glowing effect the one where you contract a disease. What should I do to fix my poor horse

I have heard in the past that diseases eventually time put on NPCs.

How do you find out your horse got disease and followers during gameplay, all I can see is health bar?

Well it happened during the battle when the player gets afflicted with a disease they glow a certain way for about a second.

Mind you, I only notice diseases when I get the notification saying "You've contracted X", too busy in a fight looking at the enemy.

You can "cure" your horse using console commands. If you know the name of the disease, you can look up its "spell ID" number online. (Or use a mod called "More Informative Console" so you can see the ID of the "spell" affecting your horse.) Then you can cure your horse, for example, of Bone Break Fever with the command "removespell FE00E830". If the disease has progressed to a later stage, you will need to use removespell for each level of disease.

No need to kill your horse...
