I have a quest to get a book there but I have no map indicator...so ia the quest bugged?

You dont get one map marker if the quest item you are supposed to find is on some other place like the one you have now.
I know where you can find that item.
Since you dont have the marker you are not in Solsteim.

Is with most quests that take you to other areas than skyrim the quest markers become active if you are in that area (Sostheim, Forgotten Vale or some mod). Another great example is some quests in Dawnguard for instance

It sent me to Bloodskall Barrow for Kharjo's Moon Amulet, and I hadn't even started Dragon's Rising.

I never knew you could just sail to Solstheim without having done the first dragon, and I've been doing this since 2011. Usually I just leveled up, got me some followers, did Bleak Falls Baskin-Robbins and got the first dragon to get Lydia, then did my thang.

I have the same kind of mod for Fallout 4 so that for instance the BOS not sent me to Nuka world at level 5 or something.

A QUESTION FOR YOU ALL: Can I go to the island and do the book quest without setting of the quests on the Island like starting the Mirrik quest line? quest

Yes you can. But you dont want to go there to early anyway. Mirak questline starts when you meet the cultist kill them and read some paiper.
