How to put items in a display case

How can i put items in a display case? It isn't e and neither is it r. How does it work?

You have to drop the item from your inventory and grab it manually then drag it over to the case - it's very impractical and doesn't always work, nor does the item always stay in the case (sometimes you come back to your home to find the item on the ground).

There is a Hearthfire Display Case Fix mod if you use mods to allow you to enter the items in the display cases. I can recommend it as I have been using it for a while now.

what |HP|SeeEmilyPlay is true, but the display case fix basically turns every display case into a weapons display case, so it might not help you at all.

There is a mod on Nexus called Jaxon's Positioner (52583) that gives you much more control moving items around, and can also lock them into place. I've fouind it very usefull.

Jaxon hasn't ported it over yet because it needs SKSE and MCM
