[MODDING] Special Edition or Normal Skyrim?
Im looking back to start over Skyrim again. I like to mod the game aswell. The last time I playd Skyrim (back in 16) there was nearly no mod for the SE compatible. I need to know which version I shoult uninstall because I dont want to miss so much mods. Maybe you guys can tell me :)

The ONLY reason to pick oldrim is if your computer cannot run SE.

Well I suppose if you want to play Enderal, as it's one of the few major mods that doesn't work very well with SE yet.

Allright. Thanks for the info. Funny that you guys call il oldrim :D So nearly all mods works on SE? Because On Nexus it says 17k Mods for SE and 60k for oldrim

Nearly all of the popular, not abandoned, broken mods yes. And you have to reduce oldrim's numbers by the translations and body slide presets in order to get an accurate count.

But look, if you want to play oldrim, go play oldrim, I'm not going to try to stop you, but you asked a question and got your answer.

Almost all of the major mods work now, and so does SKSE. I 100% recommend SE over oldrim especially if you like texture mods as oldrim was capped to 3 gig RAM usage before crashing on ya.

Thank you guys. Faux I just wanted to know if everything works. Im going to install the SE. I hope there are good Guids out there, I belive that much changed with modding SE?

Greater game stability is one major factor for playing NewRim ;) as old Skyrim was only 32bit. SSE has a far greater scope/stability regarding mods due to utilising more ram on a 64bit system. Plus rain doesn't pass through shelter etc when outside. It's the little things that count :lunar2019smilingpig:

Edit: I should also add that I have had a lot of success with playing Oldrim saves on Newrim. I did this by simply loading old save on a un-modified Skyrim. You then are informed of numerous missing mods etc. Once ingame, save. Exit, then clean save and move save to Skyrim SE save folder.

I would not recommend to use modded oldrim games in SE, given that scripts from mods are baked into the save game, decreasing the stability of the whole save game when ripped away.

on the other hand, vanilla oldrim saves working flawless in SE.

I'm not looking into that avegame, because I dont know which mods I used and I think a fresh start would be the best

Yes I have seen a few script issues that seem to sort themselves out ie, npcs standing around instead of heading to and from their locations (this example has sorted itself out).

Have had a few CTD's with the old saves due to Oldrim mods, these however were able to be fixed ie, bound sword CTD fixed via resetinventory command.
