Xbox Controller
I'm aware this game can use Xbox 360 controllers and I have one and an Xbox One controller. I prefer the Xbox One controller because of how it feels, is there a way to use an Xbox One controller instead of a 360 controller?

Pretty sure you can get it working on big picture mode.

Not sure if they ever fixed it so you can run on regular steam mode.

Im sure you could do it with 3rd party tools, I recently got an 8bitdo retro controller controlling windows with direct input.

oh crap. I just bought an xbox one controller because I assumed it work out of the box without the need for steam's controller support. xbox(both 360 and one) are already supported by windows itself and thus I though I could remove one dependency. I've had issues with steam's controller support when alt tabbing on certain games.

Most games DO but because Skyrim is older than the Xbox One on PC and Xbox 360, it doesn't have native support

If you are running windows 10, it works with no extra crap. Plug and play style.

Yeah, just plug it in. FYI, if you are going to do it that way often, I recommend purchasing a wired controller as the usb ports on my One controllers lost sensitivity after a while and now I can only use them wireless on the Xbox One.

I thought they both run off of the same xengine. I need you to be real with me, here. How much testing did you actually do and how much of this is assumption? I'm not trying to be a ♥♥♥♥ just need to know.

Well I tried it once and it didn't work thats why. It also says Xbox 360 controller in the control menu

I think I used the wrong term anyways. Xengine is something else. That said...doesn't really matter if it says 360 controller on the game.

Alright. As a final confirmation. I have received my xbox 1 controller and it worked out of the package without any steam controller support for both oldrim as sse. I will note that I unplugged my 360 controller as it appeared to default to it at the beginning.
