That depends on what kind of enemies some are immune against 1 of the 2

Lightning gives you the benefit of instant arrival on target, where firebolts and fireballs take their sweet time. Lightning also saps enemies' magicka, where fire gives them some extra damage over time. I like the look of fire better, in general, though there's nothing like the tri-effect of a good chaos spell.

Fire:

PROS - Damage over time, looks cool, uses the least amount of Magick a out of the 3 elements, cheapest books, fastest spell casting.

CONS - can be inaccurate at long range, slow projectile, damage over time is small, master skill is only a single burst, loses effectiveness at higher levels

Lightning:

PROS - most base damage, instant damage effect, excellent against mages and spell swords, balanced, wide area of affect, master level spell lasts as long as u can cast it

CONS - uses most Magicka, expensive spell books, slowest casting time, all the shock spells pretty much are the same but with different damage models

The problem with Lightning is the enemies generally have ridiculously large magicka reserves, which regenerate far faster than the players. Making the drain from lightning irrelevant, sadly.

Fire will burn, causing extra damage.
Frost will slow enemies slightly while decreasing their Stamina reserves (just a bit, sadly, but enough to make it worthwhile against stronger melee fighters)

Basically apart from a few specific enemies (including the magical Anomalies and Wisps) lightning isn't worth using, apart for a change of look. You should mostly be using Fire and Frost spells for damage.

Never played till finish but around mid game Ordinator was still very strong

As for the looks, you need to decide yourself.

Personally I favour Lightning over fire because the CC of the lightning spells looked more interesting to me, than the DoT stuff of the fire branch.

In the end, you will have fun with booth elemental branches.

All 3 had their use, mostly you want fire on undead, vampire, archer while use ice on warrior or melee unless they are nord or iceproof, then fallback to fire, lighting on mage, or anyone who use depend on mana that are deadly spell. But most cost-effiect force on is fire, cheaper and you can use that most enemies but drummer, dragon and fire atnond (fire heal them) are fire proof, so use ice or lighting, lighting is most of all 3 able to harm most number of enemies because very rare enemies had lighting proof or resis, you could use lighting fighting all enemies, but not cost wise, and there is might be bug that lighting one hit killed enemies, become ash, unable to loot or it's stuck forever on ground even whole place may be respawn, or so I thought.

Note: all those spell is become useless overtime, when leveling, higher, and higher level, your spell damage don't go up or improved like normal weapons do.

Well I can stick to point, or give the right info..........
I personally prefer to give the information and let them process it for the answer.

What the actual F* are you talking about.. just wtf?!?

Its not the right information when you talking about
Vanilla
magic system while the OP is asking for
Modded
magic system. You didnt even bother to look up the ordinator perks, because if you had you would have seen that the Ordinator perks include way more CC, stun or interaction within each other than vanilla.

and the last sentence reads like "Yeah doesnt matter if I am on point, atleast I wrote something in some way related" :steamfacepalm:

@OP
sry for the slight derail, but shît like that is just annoying because no one is helped

Must be internet issues, my here is bad ping sometime, I wasn't see that then post it,
Grumpy Mar 2, 2019 @ 7:36am
then you really should talk with your provider when having a 1 day lag :steammocking:
Humble Mar 2, 2019 @ 7:53am
That's a thing, in this small county, we only had one provider dsl with zero choice for dsl, they get many people on line to make a buck, while cost is going up and up while internet is not very useable, like game is unplayable when 600 at least ping all the time. We end up with satellite and pay more but download is good but not good ping and upload, depend on weather.

Worse when you had a bad service with one company but there is no other company in area to choice from. and you can check with provider, and they delay or not helping or help with slow as snail. :(
I can't play online game as used to be and not even watch youtube it's was so bad look at. ah well, at least basic internet is workable.
