Any way to get Hialgoboost working for Special Edition?
I'm referring to this software: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15123

It's used to dynamically lower resolution in the middle of gameplay to keep a high framerate. It works fine for original Skyrim, but on special edition it never pops up when I start the game. Occasionally it makes the beeping sound it's supposed to when it detects a game, but it doesn't do anything and the hotkeys don't work.

Anyone have this working for SE, or know of a similar program that applies a resolution scale without changing the screen resolution?

Why do you need that old program/mod?

Add EnbBoost and SKSE it will help maybe better and it is newer. And made for this game.

Because I'm running the game at 4k (4096x2160) on a single GTX 1080 and it's struggling during combat and more detailed interiors. I'm also already using ENB and SKSE.

I'd rather not just lower my resolution either.
Have you run it through the SE creation kit?

Ok. Understand. What is your current fps now? and how down do it drop.
Your 1080 what model is it, TI or regular?

That wouldn't make any sense in this context.

Regular. I drop to under 25 frames in combat with a dragon or multiple enemies, or if I'm in one of the big cities. Otherwise I'm at 45-60. This is all with ENB on.

Ok. There is difference between those and Ti models, there is also one that have one x in the name those are factory clocked.

But you should not drop that low.

Instead of dynamic down res why not just switch to 1440p and have a smooth experience?

I'm fully aware of this. This has nothing to do with what I'm asking about.

Mostly because I don't want my game looking like mud on a 4k monitor unless it's actually running too poorly to control. I also can't run the game in borderless windowed mode without it only taking up half the screen if I do that.

Actually I dont think your GPU cant handle what you want it to do.
And the game is not made to work well on one 4K monitor sadly.

Turn your desktop res down to 1440p also and enjoy your borderless window experience.

1440p looks fine on a 4k monitor, by the way. Especially in motion.

Regarding the discussion, a single 1080 is too weak to get 4k 60fps in SE. Either get 2 in SLI, get a 1080 ti or reduce the settings

sorry for triple post but couldnt look into hialgo on mobile. hialgo only works with DX9 games like skyrim or Fallout 3, special edition is DX11.
