If you are using the most recent version of racemenu (0.3.2) then either revert to 0.3.1 or do this:

    There is currently a bug with face overlays so we need to turn this off in the skee64.ini.

    In MO2 left pane right click on the Racemenu mod and choose information.
    In the INI-Files tab click on SKSE/Plugins/skee64.ini and scroll down until you find the line

bEnableFaceOverlays

    Change =1 to =0
    Click on Save, then Close and we're done
