Oblivion has native 21:9 support but Skyrim doesn't
I recently got a 2560x1080 monitor and was curious to see what games worked with it and what didn't. Skyrim works with it but only with mods and an few simple edits to the ini files. But I was shocked to see oblivion, a much older game, somehow has support for my resolution. How did Bethesda somehow remove a feature like this from their newer games. Even fallout 4 doesn't have native support so what the hell Bethesda? I didn't even think 21:9 monitors existed when oblivion was released but somehow bethesda managed to include a feature that they didn't even bother to copy into their newer games.

Shocking isnt it.

When they showcased oblivion back in 2005 their demo was in 4k as well. That game was ahead of its time no doubt. Most of us were still rocking crt monitors at the time.

I'm also partially shocked by the laziness of bethesda today. 21:9 may be a pretty minor thing. But when it comes to a lot of their newer games especially fallout 4 and 76 it's become obviouse how little they care now. their games are riddled with tons and tons of minor problems. many of these problems have been fixed by the modding community in their previouse games. But I guess i'll just add 21:9 to the list of ♥♥♥♥ bethesda was too lazy to even copy.

Yeah that sums it up pretty much.

I assume you have seen the stretched botched ultrawide they patched into 76?

I made fun of them for modders doing it better in F4 and SSE, But never thought to poke fun over the fact that they have had a proper fix in their own game, Oblivion.:steamfacepalm:

I don't have 76 on pc. I own it on xbox because I had a group of friends who wanted to play together. And after playing it i'm not buying it for pc ever. I also can't get the fix to work for fallout 4 so i'm stuck playing it boring 16:9
