I apologise if I'm asking something blatantly obvious, but quite often that's where to start.
dont know what the error code 1 of SKYUI stands for, but skyUI needs skse. sometimes it can help to start skse as admin. dunno if thats one of such cases, just try it :D
and ye sometimes we overlooking the most obvious errors but have fun playing
Yeah same thing too i have yet to see anyone that can help on this and i don't think anyone will. My skse won't launch on nexus and won't launch on steam now making it unplayable. I downloaded and tried both scipt extenders for AE and SE and none work both saying I need to get the AE version of the script extender when i dont even own AE. I wish we can all get help on this because i just want to play the game here. If anyone reads this and can help i will gladly appreciate it.
I also had this issue where SKSE *originally* in the same folder as my install location. And yet, SKSE could not find skyrimse.exe.
Important to note: I had loaded, as many videos pointed to do, all of my SKSE files, archived, in my mod manager instead of manually installing it.
Basically I had a bunch of mods on Vortex Nexus - my mod manager - and while trying to fix issues that were driving me to my wits' end, I went Full Genius Mode:
"Okay. I'll just Disable *every* mod and then turn them back on one at a time. That'll work.*
And it worked too well.
Basically, when I disabled "SKSE_00_02_DATA.rar" - which is what I called my SKSE archived mod as described above, it removed it from the folder.
Then, the issue happened. Because of course that instance of SKSE had disappeared. But I didn't even know it was SKSE that was the problem yet.
When I eventually reEnabled it, it did reinstall it, but it did so in my vortex mods folder, which is in a different location, as I've set it up myself.
Once I discovered that, I just found that folder (right-clicked the mod > "Open in File Manager"), realized my mistake, took those files and copied them in the correct location, redid my shortcut, voila. Game works.
Mental note, not disabling Script Extender ever again lol
TL;DR:
-Disabled my self-made archived SKSE that I dragged and dropped in the mod manager.
-This deleted the files from the exe location, when I re-enabled it it wasn't in the same place by design and wasn't the same instance.
-Put files back manually and redid shortcut, game works again no problem.
