Skyrim won’t run on AMD driver?
I have a ASUS laptop, i paid a lot for it because it’s supposed to be really good for gaming. I also did a factory reset on it too recently, so I’m not sure if there was another cpu before the reset because it doesn’t show anything but the AMD, and I recently downloaded Skyrim SE and whenever I launch it, it plays for a few minutes (doesn’t look the best kind of choppy) and it says there’s a display error with the driver and the screen goes black. I haven’t played the game on the laptop before the reset so I’m confused, if someone could help I’d appreciate it!!

Hello,

just so you're aware, a factory reset will not change your cpu (Central Processing Unit) as it is machine soldered to the laptop board, i guarantee you it does not disappear.

A factory reset though, might cause you some grief.

Your laptop will likely need to be updated again on the motherboard support site. That would be an area of concern.

the best place to start with this, though, would be to list the components inside your laptop. If you had a link for where you bought your laptop, or a way of delivering nonspecific system information (just list the names of the parts inside your laptop, don't bother listing serial numbers etc.) to us, that would be best.

i wish you good luck in achieving a smooth skyrim framerate.

Are you saying you had two GPU's in device manager and one is now not present? I might know what your issue is but it's just a hunch.

Post your specs pls
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU

Ram: 6.00 GB

System type: 64 bit, x64 based processor

on my display adapters it says AMD mobility Radeon HD 5800 series, and my laptop model number is G73jh if that helps too.

I tried using driver booster 7 to update everything and now i can actually play without crashing but its still pretty choppy.

Did google that laptop and it seems that it is little old.
Do you still run W7 on it?
No im actually running windows 10 on it but yes its a little old but its still supposed to be decent for gaming and skyrim is old too so it should be running fine, ive played big games on it before.

It was decent at one point. Not anymore.
You dont even have the Ram you need for the game. You have 6 the game needs 8.
You may have one I7 cpu but it may be generation 3 or 4.
Your Gpu on it dont even match SkyrimSe minimum demands.
so there's really nothing i can do? i reinstalled the game and when i launch it, it automatically sets my settings and it says "video hardware cannot be identified"
