I never got Skyrim Special Edition for free
After doing some digging, I haven't seen anyone with this same problem, which makes me even more worried that it will never be fixed for me, but it's a worth a shot to ask. In 2014 I bought Skyrim Legendary Edition during a Steam Summer Sale. I have old save files in my game of me being in Solstheim and owning a house in Falkreath. Despite owning the game and all its DLC, though, I never got the Special Edition that was given out for free. I don't really need it all that much, since I'm perfectly happy playing the old version, but for whatever reason all my DLC is gone too. I have no idea what to do, and if there's any chance I can recover the DLC or get Bethesda to give me the Special Edition 3 years late. Am I missing something??

I know this is really old and probably been resolved but if you never got it but buy Skyrim SE on Steam, within 2-3 days you will automatically get a refund for the purchase once the system sees the other Skyrim version in your library. This literally just happened to me- I didn’t request it or anything I just planned on taking the hit but then randomly a refund appeared a few days later.

You can always raise the issue with steam, but after this late a date it's a long shot at best.

This problem was not resolved at all, so I appreciate these comments! Steam support was not at all helpful, but I'll try just buying the game and hope I get refunded as well, thank you!

as you point out date issue and most own before, date/time, i dont recall more detail's then that.

i only recall that, and PM my friend to get copy oldrim with all dlc's before date.

and just view he's profil and yes SE is there.

Also noticed now that I didn't get it for free.

I bought Skyrim day one on steam back then, but have never received the special edition.

Did you have all the DLC? You needed to own all the dlc as well
