Relationship Dialogue Overhaul
Let me start by saying that I'm little more than "novice" at applying mods to Skrim SE. I can bring up the mods page and click to download and enable them, and so far have been successful that way in modding my game. But I can't get any response from RDO. The mod is in place, I have added SKSE64 and I have the USSEP, as well as the patch for RDO. The patch is at the bottom of my load order with RDO right on top of it. Also, I don't have a mod manager because I didn't think I needed one with the mods coming directly from Steam. Besides that, there doesn't seem to be any clear consensus on which one to use, with all of them getting mixed reviews.

Tried LOOT? You don't need a mod manager beyond NMM/Vortex but LOOT is still really helpful.

Also, not all mods can be installed that simply. Be sure to read the ENTIRE description page to find out how to properly install the mod and any conflicts or incompatibility it has.
Thanks. I do have LOOT for verifying load order, but it keeps telling me that the dlc is dirt and needs cleaning. Is it ok to clean the dlc? I don't want to mess it up.

Don't bother, won't solve the problem.

I just noticed you said "mods coming directly from Steam."

Meaning you're not using Nexus, but are you using the Workshop (which is for LE, not SE) or are you using the Bethesda site from the launcher?
Bethesda site from the launcher. I didn't realize we could use nexus mods on Skyrim SE since Bethesda has its own mods page in the game menu. I used Wrye Mash and Wrye Bash on my games but that was when I played the games from disc and before I had Steam.

Well nexus is a site for mods of any game, if there is a game that can be modded, it's on nexus
Bethesda creation club only introduced after Skyrim SE along with dlc a.k.a paid mods
Although with a few mod, you don't really need any mod manager, but if you want to keep your Skyrim main folder clean from mods, vortex or mo2 is the way to go, they keep your main folder clean from mods, easy to manage/modifying mods, and in case of some mods broke Skyrim files completely, just disable them instead of reinstall

Honestly I don't have experience modding through the Bethesda launcher.

I recommend just getting Vortex off the Nexus site and, like I said before, reading descriptions thoroughly before hitting the download button. If you managed SKSE's install you can figure out Vortex. You will need to get rid of RDO from Bethesda (to get it from Nexus) if you go this route.

Perhaps someone else who uses the Bethesda launcher and their site for modding can help.
I didn't realize I'd have to switch RDO out from the Bethesda one, thanks for that! I've downloaded Vortex and will try to figure this out, but thanks for all your and Nope's help, I appreciate you guys taking the time to do that.
