Is there a way to reset the dawnguard quest line?

I followed the quest for dawnguard. After bringing Serena to her father and refusing to become a vampire instead of getting a return to dawnguard castle the quest line ended there with no more quest coming from dawnguard. Is there a way to restart this quest line?

The ONLY way to restart ANY quest in Skyrim, is to go back to an earlier save (or of course, start a new playthrough). All game data is baked into the save and cannot be removed - it is like trying to unbake a cake and get the orignal eggs, flour, and sugar all back as they originally were - impossible.

Tks that's what I thought. It bugs me and even though I am way ahead in the game I guess I will start over.

there should be more quests on the dawnguard line though
go back to the castle, he will tell you to recruit 2 more members and you can follow the storyline from that point on

Or load one save before you talk to Seranas dad. As NIK_F_S says there is more then that in that questline.

Do you have any mods installed?

Not many mods. I have the patch to fixe bugs. Inigo and the one that improves how object looks like. That's it. I went to the leader and he does not talk to me at all. It's llike I done all the quests as the dawnguard is down in the finish section.

check your quest log, if he doesnt say anything you should have a quest "bolstering the ranks" or something similar sounding
do that quest and return to fort dawnguard

if all else fails and you want to try and force it a bit (careful you can break your safefile with this, save before doing so and if it doesnt work load that savefile)

go up to isran, open console, click on him, type "showinventory" to make really sure you clicked on him and not some dust infront of him, if his inventory shows up type disable, it should make him disappear, now type enable to get him back and try if he now responds

again, even if this works it can cause issues later on, but better than nothing i suppose

AND BEFORE DOING SO CHECK FOR THE QUEST AS THATS THE EASIEST WAY (you forgetting the name of it i mean)

You shouldn't be able to reach Isran directly, from what I've read on UESP upon returning to Fort Dawnguard it should be under attack and only when the vampires are dealt with you can speak with Isran.

true, i assumed he did that

op did you teleport to the castle via the coc command? if so that might be the reason fasttravel to riften and enter normally, fasttravelling to the fort should work too but for peace of mind travel there normally once ;)

Have you sorted your loadorder since you say that you have mods installed and what tool have you used for installing them, or are they from CC?

The mods are all from nexus. I will try that going to dawnguard the long way. You might be right there. When you come back from the vampire castle they're suppose to be under attack?

Yes they are under attack.

So you have the mods from nexus, assume that you have installed them whit Vortex then?
Did you sort your loadorder?
If you load is wrong you can have all sorts of issues.

The order should be ok. The first one I installed is the patch one then the one which make items like post and rope look better then inigo.

Btw I tried going back the long way and made sure it was at night when I entered the cave but still no attack was happening. I just might have to start over completely.

Well guys I started over from the beginning. This time I will make a new save ever time I log off instead of saving over the old save. That way if something goes wrong I can go back a previous save instead of starting completely over. Thank you all for your help.
