SSE, vortex, and mod issue

I just installed vortex and got a few mods for SSE but it will only launch with the unofficial SSE patch. All the other mods I have are content mods and I have tried running the game with each one individually and it won't. The launcher comes up and I hit play but nothing loads. Anyone have any advice?

First make sure that you always have The unofficial Patch active.
I dont know Vortex that well but it should have one sorting possibility.

From your describing it sounds like you are missing one or more masters.

It would be nice to know what your other mods is.

You need to install Loot sorting tool, then paste the load order from it for us to understand what might be going on.

I did the quick auto clean for skyrim itself but it says the dlc and update need it as well but I'm not sure how to do that.

This 2 is on wrong place. It should be opposite.

If you have cleaned Skyrim.esm you must clean the DLC:s to. It is one must to do since there is errors that is carried over to the dlc:s

I tried downloading TES5EDIT to clean the DLC's but it's downloading into notepad. Also, I can't figure out how to change the load order manually with loot.

If you want a step by step video. Gopher makes it simple to do. Once he makes a step stop the video and perform the step, go back to video and repeat. It doesn't get any easyer than this.

Loot can't change load order, that job is done in your Mod manager.

I finally managed to download TES5edit but when I open it it says it can't find the ini. It is in the same folder as the game. What do I need to do to open this correctly?

I was using the wrong edit. I downloaded SSEEdit and went through the steps of cleaning. Loot isn't showing any errors but the game still won't start.
