Soul Trap Spell Not Working Suddenly

Very odd and frustrating...

All of a sudden the Soul Trap spell no longer works at range for me. All other spells are fine.

When I cast the soul trap spell the animation acts like spell is begin cast however no purple “spell ball” flies out toward a target. Nothing occurs.

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Had 2 mods installed; Rich Merchants and Improved Map. Disabled them.
2. Removed the spell via the console and then bought it again.
3. Restarted the game.
4. Rebooted the computer.
5. Deleted and reinstalled the entire game.

All steps have failed.

Any thoughts?

Also tried loaded a previous saved game for another character. Same behavior.

Hi, I'm having the same issue after the last upgrade.

Also, there are missions that I cannot activate, like helping Ysolda with the kajitas or finding out what's wrong with Balgruff's son.

Odd an frustrating too :-(

I'm not running any mod or unofficial patch: just Skyrim SE

I'll give it a try though I've been playing without the USSEP since ever and had no problem, just since the last upgrade...
