How Do I Install Interesting NPCs?
Hello everyone,

After installing the Know Your Enemy mod, I received a notification from Vortex saying there are "Missing Masters".

The error message specifically stated: "kye_3dnpc_patch.esp depends on 3DNPC.esp".
I assume this means I have to install Interesting NPCs?

I would like to have both mods, so I don't mind asking for help on how to install Interesting NPCs.

I already downloaded the 2gb file from the correct site (3DNPC).

I just need to know how to properly install the mod and get rid of that error message.

Keep in mind, I'm not very tech savvy, so when you give me the instructions, please give them step by step. A video would be even better.

Thanks.

I'm going to stop modding until I resolve this error message.

You will have to import the archive into Vortex.
Basically, when you download a file from the Nexus through Vortex, it us downloaded as an 'archive', a kind of special compressed folder made to save space and pack a lot of files into one. Vortex then automatically reads it and unpacks it into usable files.
But since this file isn't downloaded through Vortex, the mod manager doesn't know it's supposed to read it. So you need to find a way to 'import' the archive, which involves finding it through file manager and telling Vortex to unpack it.

Unfortunately, I don't know where Vortex has its import archive button. Judging from NMM and MO I'd guess it's in the top left corner somewhere, but you may want to wait for someone more experienced in Vortex to confirm.

You don't need the 3DNPC patch for KYE, though, if you don't want Interesting NPCs.

(Mod Managers tend to have trouble handling mods that are this big, so keep an eye out when you play--it would be best to install manually, but I do not believe you have the tools necessary to open the archive yourself.)

Alrighty, hopefully someone experienced with Vortex can shed more light.

I did try Vortex little but kicked it out since it was useless. You can drag and drop the mod you want to import in one window in the mod, I think it was in the mod window some where. Not sure. That is how I did import my mod library.

There is a Vortex forum on Nexus. You might get an experienced response there.

Yeah, I'm going to try that now.
