Need help w/ controller config

So I'm pretty new to the PC Master race and am tryin to play Skyrim SE with a PS4 Controller on my computer. For the configuration I browsed through the communities and picked the top one, by Ottman. However, there are 3 things that I can't seem to get my controllers to do. 1) Open up the menu that has your perks, inventory, magic spells, and world map. 2) Back out of containers unless I press take all. 3) Open up the wait menu. I saw that for 1 the keyboard button is tab but when I try to manually set a button to tab, it will say it is set but when I go into the game, it won't do anything, anybody know what I should do?

So I made an interesting discovery. I noticed the controls menu in the in game settings was lacking some controls and sure enough when I fired up the ps4 comparison it was. My pc copy has no character menu, no wait, and no shout/power options. I've resolved that my issue with the controls not working is simply that they do not exist in the game. I even tried reinstalling it but no luck. Does anyone know if there is something that I can do to fix this, it is very frustrating because it makes the game essientially unplayable. I even tried to see if it was a mod I had downloaded by dissabling them all but it wasn't.

Ok so I figured something out which is good, now I don't need to ask for a refund and risk Godd Howard having my family assassinated. With the controller unplugged I open the journal with my keyboard and go to controls. There I click on a control to swtich it's key and then I plug in my controller and select one, this appears to work.

I tried you method, but to no avail. Every time I plug my controller in, the functions for Char. Menu, Shouts, and Wait all disappear from the Control options.

The maddening thing is that it was working fine until my Logitech f310 crapped out (after about 10 years.) I got the exact same model, new of course, to replace it, and now magically it doesn't work.
