iEQUIP?
I saw a mod called iEQUIP on YouTube that looked and sounded great. But aparently it's not working because of not being updated for SKSE or MCM or something?

Is there a work-alike mod? Or recommend a good SIMPLE hotkey mod?

Thank's

well its updated now (i have it in my current build) so its worth it if you know how to use hotkeys but allows you have your weapons, magic, armor, and potions that you can switch out on the fly

According to post for iEquip's page on nexus as of yesterday there is still no update to the mod and folks are still waiting for it to be updated.

It works to a point, they said they are working on other sections of it, maybe it will come then.
Even if in the game parts work but it is linked to vanilla UI, so no major loss, it is a dll that needs updating, that's all.
Previous run of game works fine with it..

I installed it and it seemed to work, but when I tried rotating some weapons and shields they didn't equip. Such a great concept.

You need to just do it the original way, this is where the issue is, because of the missing dll update.
