"Taking Care of Business" quest (Bug) [SOLVED]

After stealing the ring and planting it in the dunmer merchant, Brynjulf tells me to go through the Ratway and meet him in the Ragged Flagon. I go there and speak with him to continue the quest, but when he's about to give you the part to take care of the "deadbeats", the dialog closes and when I open the journal it still says speak to Brynjulf, so I go to speak with him again and he behaves like he just gave you the quest to go through the Ratway and speak to him in the Ragged Flagon even though you're both in the Ragged Flagon currently, and none of the people you would talk to during that part of the quest are dead.

I've tried loading up the save before you speak with him there, but that didn't fix it. How do you fix this bug?

Hmmm. Loading a prior save should work. Did you try exiting the game completely? I've read where some things don't get cleared out of the games memory just by loading a prior save.

I've only experienced one issue with this quest and that was when I backed out of the conversation too soon while in the Cistern. But when re-engaging in convesation it gave me the next task in the quest. I believe it is to burn the beehives.
