Thanks, in the meantime I had found this:

Achievements Mods Enabler
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/245
The SSE Engine Fixes you linked probably does a lot of good but it doesn't seem to claim that it reenables achievements. The Achievements Mods Enabler claims to do just that.

If it matters, I do have "Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE)" from the Steam store. Installed it just now because it seems to be useful, not because I actually know what to do with it. :p
That mod doesn't work anymore. Go with the one Steve recommended.

The SKSE from Steam will not work - it is for orignal Skyrim. You need to download it from here:

https://skse.silverlock.org/

And make sure you use this version (the second one listed):

Current Anniversary Edition build 2.2.3 (game version 1.6.640)
Thanks for the tips. :)
Is SKSE for people making their own mods? I won't do that.
I want bug fixes and mods that are essential for the gameplay.
Maybe I want mods for pixel beauty too, included character looks.

SKSE is needed for some mods to work in the game. If a mod needs it, then it will be listed under Requirements on the mod page.

If you need to use console commands to continue a game, it's already broken :(

indeed and probably with the unofficial patch you would never ever encounter those bugs and wouldn't have to resort to console commands.

>>> I do not believe that is quite true. I have played with USSEP all my life since I am modding this game and the Civil War continues to be broken to the point that if you do not use a console command, you will not advance.
I decided not to do that quest at all to avoid those bugs that USSEP does not fix and obviously Bethesda never did and will not.
Arthmoor 4 DIC 2023 a las 7:40 p. m.
The problem with statements like that is that the Civil War doesn't just break for everyone. In fact for pretty much everyone it works just fine with a few minor hiccups here and there. No need for console commands.

Nobody has been able to give us any concrete information about exactly what they say is broken, on a game with no mods, nor will they give us saves outside of one person who did way back when.

For us, 999 times out of 1000, "USSEP doesn't fix it" turns into "There was never a bug here to fix."
DPMR 5 DIC 2023 a las 3:26 a. m.
Food for thought, your blaming the game and it is the mods and more than likely using the console that cause this. I have played Skyrim and civil war hundreds of times with very minor issues.

And for the record console commands means you already broke your game, and is probably the cause of your problem anyways. The console is there for troubleshooting only, not for play threw.

If you are installing mods without checking what they change first it is on you, you wouldn’t believe the changes mods make that you don’t expect or want.

I don’t know your case but many modders say bah, I have bla bla amount of mods, but have never even looked at them with the CK and xEdit.

I am not in favor of this mod but it certainly is not the sole issue here. As stated no one has any prove, just like to point fingers.

You are just another in the unfortunately finger waggery. In other words, put up or shut up.

To distill what Arthmoor and DPMR wrote - if an issue cannot be reliably reproduced on a vanilla game, it cannot be patched.

Color me surprised. BGS actually did some bug fixes as well. I am still at work and haven't yet checked, if any of them was fixed of conflicts with USSEP.

As regards updates to USSEP as a result of the latest SSE update/patch, this was just posted by Arthmoor

"Yes, once I'm done updating game folders I'll be uploading USSEP updates. Followed behind by a number of other mod updates for the rest of my library."

And since it hasn't been mentioned yet, there's also a hotfix out to correct a couple of issues that came up. AFK, ModDB, and Nexus have all been updated but Bethnet has an error state blocking the upload.

How can I fix the broken khajiit caravans in USSEP on Steam Deck? Ri'saad has been standing outside the whiterun stables for like 3 in-game weeks without moving.

I tried searching that vanilla script optimization thing but search seems to be broken on the decks creation club menu

Anyone experience a downgrade on display quality with ussep? The patch seems changes the color contrast a little bit
