dollar sign appearing on main menu and various other in-game menus

[Silent Protagonist]

basically the title but here is where it first appears and i am wondering how to fix it. it not in the files for my HUD mods and not in the main drive (i use MO2) so i dont know how to fix this issue but here is a pic and my load order:

I started getting it when I started using SkyUI. If I remove SkyUI, it goes away.

Could you give examples of the dollar sign appearing in menus?

It could just be the operating system is condending a filepath to fit on screen, since in the early days programmers used the Dollar sign as a wild cat (it means anything, so in a filename it means that part of the filename is being represented by the dollar sign). If it is that, you just usually have to extend the box it's appearing in so it can show the full filepath.... which depending on what it's appearing in can be a pain.

i tried going into the mod menu section of the main menu and it was showing up where button or keyboard buttons were pressed for the various menus and such so its basically every where in there game but kelvy thinks it a skyui malfunction and recommended that i uninstall skyui and reinstall it manually so i will double check this and if it is fixed i will erase this thread

nope still there but i did notice something odd which i discovered when i disabled all my mods the picture was completely different when i disabled the mods the menu was fine but the creation ♥♥♥♥ also reappeared which is what was different then what was shown in the pic i posted

Edit: found it! it was coins of tamriel that was causing the issue (which sucks cause i thought it was a good mod to try......guess ill find another gold coin mod to try in its stead)

Dont you just hate when its a single mod out of say 1 0r two hundred mods causing the issue. You might want to mention it over on the mods page as well. Maybe they have a fix for you

Usually when $ or # appear with skyui installed it's related to a papyrus script being bugged somewhere. (See: Wearable lanterns and it's papyrus patches as an example.)
