This mod restores it:
Classic Sprinting Redone (SKSE64) - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20166

Adapt and overcome. Sure, it was difficult playing SE at first, but after a bit of time, it is not so bad. 5000+ hours in Oldrim, 2000+ hours in SE. I play both regularly and can competently sprint in either.

Yeah, real easy - just unzip it and place it in the Plugin folder contained in your SKSE folder (if you are using a mod manager, it should do that for you if you just install it normally)

Thx for the reply, I looked in my Skyrim folder but i'm missing a "Plugin" folder.
Just make a new folder in the SKSE folder and name it Plugin - and then place that file in it.

Please can people help me or reach out to the developing team to implement a simple solution.
The Development team is long disbanded, the only progress know is for the Creation Club, I know there have been fixes, but these have been for bugs, not changing features.

You need to look for mods for this.

File path would be Steam/steamapps/commom/Skyrim Special Edition/Data/SKSE/plugin

So install SKSE64 according to the guide, then create a folder named plugin within the SKSE folder, and place the ClassicSprinting.dll in that.

Thanks guys for taking your time to help me with this. I'll try it out. Also I remember on the Xbox 360 version I could jump when I was sprinting. On SE this wasn't possible. Do I also require a mod in order to "Jump & Sprint" as I was able to do so in Skyrim Xbox 360. Or does "Classic Sprinting Redone (SKSE64)" fixes this also. I'm just very familiar with the Xbox 360 mechanics and on SE the toggle sprint and not being able to jump whilst sprinting is two aspects i'm not happy with. Also does Classic Sprinting Redone allow me to do a Sneak Roll. I play as an Assassin build.
Don't know about that - never used the sneak roll. One more thing, when using mods that require SKSE, you need to launch the game using SKSE64_loader.exe, not the regular launch.

Just saw that the MA of classic sprinting redone recommends Better Jumping on his page

says this: Recommended mod that is fully compatible: Better Jumping SE by meh321 and z65536 .

Glad it's all good! As to controller type, that's individual preference - I've never used a controller in games, always mouse and keyboard - others, they use a controller. I'd say go with what you are most comfortable with.

As to uncapping the FPS - DON'T. Everything in the game is tied to FPS - not just the visuals. And though some reliable individuals have said they have not had problems with using changes that allowed it, it cannot be recommended, as even now there are uncertainties as to long term effect. Also, keep in mind, that this game was originally designed to run at 30 FPS (for console platforms), so anything exceeding that is really exceeding the design parameters. Setting it to run higher than 60 FPS is definitely a do at your own risk, and no support can be given should there be issues when running the game over 60 FPS.
