The Gift quest HELP

Please i need help i've been searching for hours and i couldn't find answers to my questions, so i'm just gonna ask them here and hopes someone can help me

Also please for no SPOILERS , do not watch this, this post is about the DLC Dawnguard, the quest called "The gift"

1- can you turn elf and argonian spouses into Vampire? I searched for that for hours and some people say no and others say yes, admit it's a bit confusing ...

2-Do i need to complete the Dawguard main quest before doing "the gift" ? I never made this quest before and it's been kinda years since i haven't play that dlc, so i don't remember if you need to finish the main quest and kill Harkon to do the Gift

3-Should i marry a spouse before joining the vampires or after? I saw a lots of reports of bugs and glitches from people so i'm really unsure x)

To begin the quest, the Dragonborn needs to first be married. Next talk to Vingalmo and he will initiate the quest. Additional side quests given by the vampires of Castle Volkihar need to be completed before Vingalmo will initiate this quest.

EDIT: I know from TESO that argonians can be a vampire. They are coloured more white after that.

I just really wanted to know if you could turn elfs spouse into vampires cause everyone in this game is married with humans ;_;
