skse64 is UPDATED
As of 17 Sept 2022 skse64 is up to date for SSE.

SSE
skse64 ver 2.2.0
Game ver 1.6.629

ATTENTION RE Game Pass version of SSE: From what I have been reading, it will not be possible to use skse64 with the Game Pass version of the game. As a side note other things like xEdit, MO2, ENB, and possibly Vortex, and a bunch of other tools will not work with the Game Pass version.

The following only pertains if the title of the thread is "skse64 is OUTDATED": There was an update to the SSE exe today. That means that skse64 will not work.

Just to be clear. The version check in skse64 is there for a reason. Basically, anytime they change the exe version the address's that skse64 hooks into change. If the version check were not there any save made after the exe update would be corrupt. Period.

There are ways to avoid updates in this thread:

The Script Extender team is usually on top of things. The time it takes to update relies on many things. One of the biggest is how much the exe actually changes. Also, please be aware that these folks work on this in their spare time, and for free, so please be understanding.

Please be aware that there is a good chance that mods that rely on skse64 may not function.

I will update this thread when things change.

Ok, this is pretty funny, never had it happen to me, at least this way.
Stopped playing because of a glitch with IFV, went to change configs, took the opportunity to install Convenient Horses because I forgot, and in between the time of stopping playing, running LOOT, FNIS and MM, the game updated and I almost freaked out that I had ruined something by installing such a simple mod.

Who would have tough that Bethesda is still updating Skyrim after so long? kind of nice, but really annoying.

Simple Question, when this gets updated am I going to have to redo all my mods? I spent last week painstakingly downloading mods and learning to use Vortex only for this to happen a couple days later. I dont want to start over another game. I have done that too many times already.

So will I have to reinstall anything?
You will have probably have to update most skse64 dependent mods.

Oh, they're not using updates to fix problems that have existed since the original release of Skyrim years ago. They use updates to peddle their overpriced Creation Club mods.

I gave up. The game won't even start any more. Uninstalled. Time to switch to Fallout.

SKSE just got updated. It should work fine now, if you update it. Don't have time to try it myself yet, but hopefully the mods that depend on SKSE will still work fine without the need for updates.

I could have sworn I set automatic updates to only happen between 4-5AM, specifically to prevent unwanted updates like this, but it updated as soon as I logged in anyway. If Steam just had a simple way to turn off updates for specific games, I wouldn't have to deal with this mess...

Actually... This time its actual fixes included:

Version 1.5.73.0.8[edit]
Version 1.5.73.0.8 was released as an update for Steam, PS4 and Xbox One on 13 March 2019.
Small backend changes for PC, XB1, and PS4.
Thieves Guild Hood will no longer disappear if player is a vampire (second instance on the variant record).
Vegetable Soup and Venison Stew now properly restore health.
Transparency issues with the Blue Palace entry way and door have been fixed. [Verified via patch file comparison - this isn't officially documented]

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Special_Edition_Patch

As a result, USSEP removed several fixes:

Argonian Ale and Cyrodilic Brandy have received fixes in official SSE updates and have had their edits removed from the patch. (Bug #25736)

After receiving confirmation that the magic effect duration reversals for Salmon Roe (introduced with the Hearthfire DLC in 2012) were in fact intentional, we have removed these edits from the patch. This reverts Bug #15093.

The bright outline issue with the Blue Palace meshes has been officially addressed and should no longer be too bright in the rain. Our edits have thus been removed from the patch. This reverts Bug #8755. (meshes\architecture\solitude\sbluepalaceentrance.nif, \meshes\architecture\solitude\doors\shousedoor01.nif)

Patch 1.5.73 fixes FoodRestoreHealthDuration. This cancels out Bug #24582.

Huh. How about that. Why don't they just take the unofficial patch and incorporate it into vanilla Skyrim? Would make things simpler. (Of course, they should compensate the mod authors for their work.)

Would be nice if they'd fix the Missing in Action quest, though... Even the unofficial patch doesn't fix the unfinished pacifist route. As far as I'm aware, no SE mods address it either.

WHAT?! Actual bugfixes for a released game?! Did Bethesda accidentally let an intern access a computer or something?

Jokes aside, I am actually a bit shocked at that.

Fallout 4 was updated as well. F4SE is already out, but mods will take time to update there as well.

Same case than with SSE and SKSE64.

LOL F4SE is affected as well

So i've got the updated skse but the game still crashes after like 3 seconds, I see people saying wait for mods to update though that makes no sense to me. Welp RIP Skyrim for today at least.

(Please someone tell me it's just a matter of waiting lol... pls)
