Stopped playing because of a glitch with IFV, went to change configs, took the opportunity to install Convenient Horses because I forgot, and in between the time of stopping playing, running LOOT, FNIS and MM, the game updated and I almost freaked out that I had ruined something by installing such a simple mod.
Who would have tough that Bethesda is still updating Skyrim after so long? kind of nice, but really annoying.

Oh, they're not using updates to fix problems that have existed since the original release of Skyrim years ago. They use updates to peddle their overpriced Creation Club mods.
SKSE just got updated. It should work fine now, if you update it. Don't have time to try it myself yet, but hopefully the mods that depend on SKSE will still work fine without the need for updates.
I could have sworn I set automatic updates to only happen between 4-5AM, specifically to prevent unwanted updates like this, but it updated as soon as I logged in anyway. If Steam just had a simple way to turn off updates for specific games, I wouldn't have to deal with this mess...
Actually... This time its actual fixes included:
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Special_Edition_Patch
As a result, USSEP removed several fixes:

Huh. How about that. Why don't they just take the unofficial patch and incorporate it into vanilla Skyrim? Would make things simpler. (Of course, they should compensate the mod authors for their work.)
Would be nice if they'd fix the Missing in Action quest, though... Even the unofficial patch doesn't fix the unfinished pacifist route. As far as I'm aware, no SE mods address it either.
Jokes aside, I am actually a bit shocked at that.
Fallout 4 was updated as well. F4SE is already out, but mods will take time to update there as well.
Same case than with SSE and SKSE64.
(Please someone tell me it's just a matter of waiting lol... pls)
