Annoying black head bug

Hi all,

Found several conversation in the topic, but i've found no solution so far.
I have 223 active mods, and as far as i know only WISO alters the appearance of characters. However, there's plenty of NPCs with black head, the rest of their body is different (original color of the NPC).

I use LOOT quite often and SSEEdit as well. If you can help me a bit, i would really appreciate it, because i'm empty now about ideas.

Download and install WryeBash and finetune your loadorder.

I'm using the same message what i used a few minutes ago at normal skyrim forum:

I already posted at SE forum. Thanks again for the tips. :)
I'm using Nexus Mod Manager to install the mods. Then, if i installed new mod(s), i always run LOOT to make sure everything is okay. If there's a problem found by LOOT, i'm using SSEEdit to clear ITMs and other bugs. Now LOOT says nothing is corrupted, except says that SSEEdit experimentel (IDK what the heck is that...) found 1 ITM record. However, normal SSEEdit found nothing, and furthermore, when i searched for this experimental SSEEdit stuff, the author's site says it has a change that bugs will appear after you used the software...:D so i guessed i'm skipping using that tool.

My only question is: What is the core meaning of this software and what should i do with it? I tried to find some tutorial videos @ YouTube, but the guy speaks really quick and did not create the fundamental information for me about the software...:S

Do you have a quick video tour about it, or can you write a few lines to me to understand this? :S

Wrye is one good tool, but I suggest you also read its help file, you can find it down in the left corner in the program.
And dont forget to build the bashed patch that it will add for you.

By the way, you're missing some RS Children patches if I'm not mistaken. Falskaar has kids (I'd say 3), as do The Forgotten City (one, Maliq) and Moon and Star (one as well, Albert). I think there's a compendium on the Nexus with those.

Edit: Here's[www.nexusmods.com] the compendium. There's probably a couple other mods that need a RSC patch in your list (ETaC, Settlements Expanded, TPoS, etc.).

Thanks for your highlight. :) I'll download them all. Funny thing is; I thought Nexus, LOOT and SSEEdit will totally cover all of my needs about mod organizing and downloading. It seems i failed. :D Because LOOT did not mention anything about missing mods, patches, or anything else about the mentioned RSC...strange...:S

Well, i think i opened the champaigne too early...
After i installed the missing RSC patches and used Wrye Bash again - as the tutorials said - the blackhead bug returned. Furthermore, WryeBash disabled several mods, for god knows why, and after i rechecked every box in Nexus, it's quite buggy...:S What am i missing or doing wrong? :S
Although, WryeBash says to merge patches and so. Even if i unchecked the mods to be merge, the issue still happens...:S
Any ideas? :S

You dont need to include those plugins to the bashed patch. Easy to tell Wrye to not do it.
You should not enable the plugins that wrye have disable, you need to make one new bashed patch and tell wrye to not include them.

That is why I did suggest you to read the help file that comes whit it.

Why dont you post your loadorder that you have now?

The thing is; if i run Wrye and let it do the Bashed Patch, it disables several mods. After all, if i run LOOT, it shows many messages, for example about LoTD.

It is highly strange that after i disabled 1 mod - which makes your character movement smoother - several black heads disappeared. But others remain blackhead, like Brynjolf, and other characters. After i ran Wrye again, other black heads disappeared, but highly interresting, Brynjolf remain blackhead...
I have no clue now. :D

Did you use Wrye Bash first and LOOT after? If so, do it again, general rule, Run LOOT first, then use Wrye for fixing the errors LOOT have done.

It is totally normal, for the version of Wyre that you are using, for a bunch of mods to be disabled after build the Bashed Patch. This is because those mods are merged into the Bashed Patch.

Also, Uncle is correct. You run LOOT first, then make your Bashed Patch.

I have found the black face bug to be caused by one of two things.

1. Missing or incorrect facegen files from a mod. (I dan't do much about that, and is the rarer of the cases I have seen)

2. 2 mods messing with the same NPC. This can sometimes be resolved by a load order change, although you will need to go and look at things in xEdit. Most of the time though you will have to make a patch in xEdit to carry through certain records and get rid of some others.
