The treaty conference was your doing. So, it was kind of your fault.
Damnit, thats a valid point.
UGH
but seriously..like both sides are ♥♥♥♥ in their own ways, but both have the same goal in mind.
Ulfric would destroy the empire completely given the chance, even though the means to restore both its legitimacy and its nordic heritage /called both sides to a truce meeting/.
Yeah, I'm saying you should take the Imperial Throne, it's the only way to keep the Daedra at bay and make the crazy Thalmor back down.
I know its called the "Imperial" Legion and all, but clearly other races are able to join, correct? Nords, Bretons.... in Morrowind I remember Orcs and Dark Elves even. Skyrim would benefit from the Empires military support. Why not allow them to come in, and then install a Nord leader? AKA, have a Nordic "General Tullius"....A Nord would be on the throne, a Nord would be General.... Dont see the problem. Guess its because they had to make a peace treaty with the Thalmor and the Thalmor banned Talos worship as part of the treaty....im sure other stuff in the treaty wasnt fair either.
If the empire wasnt in Skyrim, would there still be a rule against Talos worship? Or is it only enforced within the Imperial Legion and since the Legion is occupying Skyrim, its citizens are forced to obey a treaty the imperials signed?
Im probably not even making sense, I dont even know if my history is correct. I guess I dont know why the gold white treaty was even signed. I wonder if it even had anything to do with Skyrim at all.... Also, I wonder if Talos actually did become a god and should be worshipped. He was mortal, the Aedra dont have any real power left...the Daedra wouldnt have made him an equal, I dont think they could if they wanted to. Im curious how he even became known as a god or if he is just worshipped because of his actions. Im going to Google it now
you should have sided with the Forsworn noone else has a valid claim on Skyrim
if i could i probably would~
The only elves that mattered are gone
You said forsworn had true claim over skyrim, and then mpd1958 made the point that elves were around before any version of human/man which includes forsworn...by that he means elves have more of a claim to skyrim than any nord if we are following your logic.
I dont get your statement that the elves are gone...theyre still around...thalmor, bosmer, dunmer.... they all have claim more than the forsworn. theyre all closer related to their ancestors than any man. again, if we are following your logic that is...they hold more claim than forsworn.
Also, what do you mean the only elves that mattered? Which ones mattered? Why didnt they all matter? Do you mean the original race of elves or something like that?
ulfric is much the same: he's a brave, fierce warrior, and values his heritige and history more than anyone else in skyrim. however, he's also a bit xenophobic and racist.
once the dragonborn chooses sides though, it's pretty much this in a nutshell:
https://youtu.be/GNP25AQPYuI
Only the Dwemer mattered and they left. All other elves are inferior and do not command respect
Skyrim is a game that is supported by steam, and Dwemer used steam. therefor the best elves
(I hope you know I am being silly, you cannot even back the forsworn in the game)
After the events of Oblivion, the Thalmor overthrew the governor of Summerset and took over, then launched an archmage-backed war upon the Empire. Thanks to the Empire having /dissolved the Mage's Guild/ they really weren't in a state to resist such a mage-heavy army.
They were being ground down, and while odds are they would have won in the long term if they fought to the bitter end, they'd be so crippled by the effort that they may as well have lost anyway, as there would likely be no Legion left to speak of, and the land would be ruined and the people starving. So they got a truce treaty that really sucked, but let them have a chance to build their forces back up, this time /knowing/ what kind of foe was in store.
However, they obviously didn't correct the issue of the mage's guild, still leaving those jokers who do nothing but hoard artifacts and not understand them to be the replacement. So their magical R&D is pathetic.
Putting a fresh Dragonborn on the throne, particularly one actually filled with Shouts and dragon souls, would seriously change things for them.
