Skyrim Standard/SE Save File Compatibility
Hey all, just had a quick question. I didn't realize until very recently that SE is compatible with "non modified Skyrim" save files, and all you have to do is dump the saves into the SE edition save folder. I have, however, subbed to a few mods on Steam's workshop for the game. I was wondering, would the save file be incompatible then, even if the mods I've installed are relatively unobtrusive? If so, would I be able to unsub from said mods, remove anything else that wasn't off the workshop, reload, resave a fresh save file, and then import the save file?

Don't want to spend the money on SE if there are likely to be insurmountable issues for my current save. Any help is appreciated, tried to post on Nexus forums but no one has answered.

Included are a list of my subbed mods, if relevant to this question:

Bethesda told us this in their email:
"Only use original saves that have never been used with mods. Do not use your original saved game if this error appears when you load it in Skyrim Special Edition: This save relies on content that is no longer present."

I would switch knowing how the game is now that I have. It's the same game but looks and plays 10 times better. Most Mod have been ported.

You can not remove mods from your save file. Ever. It does not matter if it is in oldrim or in Special Edition.
Imagine a cake with raisins. You can in theory remove it one by one BUT imagine how cake would look like after that.

Sooner or later it will corrupt your save file.
