Darker nights and dungeon mods?
So right now I play wide screen 3440x1440p with windows mode on(the only way you can play wide screen it seems) so I can't mess with the brightness settings. So I tried several lighting modsd like realistic lighting, darker dungeons, and vivid weathers mod. RL and DD works somewhat but I can still see everything despite no light source present. The only one that really works so far is the Vivid Weathers mod as it lets you set it manually in game. However that mod has its share of problems like when it turns dungeons darker, all the colors in it seems to be darker as well. That and it says it's incompatible with Obsidian Weathers which I use as well.

Any suggestions on mods that helps with darker nights and dungeons?

NAT - Natural and Atmospheric Tamriel (has similar ingame settings as Vivid) - but like any weather mod it will conflict with obsidian)

Enhanced light and FX (which can turn down light without settings)

and the rest with ENB.

it also depends how dark you wanna go. I for example wanted dark enough so that I need a torch inside but not pitch black

here some examples how it looks in my game:

I also forgot to mention, that my ENB has some brightness config into it, so the dungeon looks darker than he actual is.

also Climates of Tamriel has also nice presets for darker nights.

Thanks! I'll be giving those a try. Yeah I like a dungeon where it's dark enough that I need a torch but not pitch blast if there is at least a form of light source. Currently it's either too bright or dark even with light source.

Hm... Now I'm debating on removing Obsidian but I've heard it was the best weather mod overall.

Wow the Enhanced Light and FX really helped! I keep hearing good things about Realistic Lighting and how it's better but ELFX is working better for me for sure.

Using the hardcore mode.

The dungeon fires got removed and it's almost pitch black. Torch still works great!

At first I was a little bothered that the mod removed the lit flames in the cave but then I thought about it and realized that it is more than likely that an old cave would not have fire lit within.

Dynamic Immersive Seriously Dark Dungeons might be something you'll like. It has an MCM for customization, and the immersive part of it is toggleable. Immersive meaning you have to actually light all those sconces, candles, torches, etc etc yourself most of the time. It can be quite the gamechanger in and of itself.

Thank you! Will definitely check that out as it sounds very interesting with the whole lighting stuff up.
