Great lift at alftand - unusable?

When I use it, I end up at the surface, but the screen constantly keeps going black and the game won't respond to input any more.

Why has this not been fixed for special edition?

Unusable how? Do youhave the quest active in your journal? Ancient Knowledge?

Worst case scenario I think you can access it via Blackreach.

he has an old bug that would happen to some people in oldrim. this is the first time I heard it happening in SE

The bug occurs when the great lifts are accessed to or from Blackreach. When the character reappears in Skyrim on the surface, or Blackreach down below, the screen autosaves and then goes blank/black, reappears a few seconds later and then goes blank again. This continues to occur indefinitely; attempts to move/run/sprint and whirlwind sprint only result in the character reappearing at the original place of arrival after the screen reappears (after going black/blank).

I've been able to leave blackreach via Mzark.

I've had that happen before, I wuld shift+tab and wait until it settled then woud go back into the game. It didn't always work, yet it did most of the time.

I've heard of there being a bug, but not the details, I've used the Greatlifts with autosaving enabled and never had a problem, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

Only thing I could suggest is to hardsave first and see if that makes a difference.

If this is related to autosaving, I think I'll try traversing the great lifts with autosave turned off.

I'll report back later if that works.

simple step guide:
1 turn off autosave
2 turn off steam overlay
3 remove skyrim and its related content from antivirus scan
5 use only save and load
6 never use continue
7 do not use UAC managed folder
8 Install steam and related games and programs in C:\Games

as long you do above you can avoid most broken load content
what i would recommand for your save
turn above off
load with load button the game to check if it loads properly.
shutdown game
(backup old save move them to diffrent place on hardrive so you only have one save file in save folder)
start game and load save again
fast travel to a town
return to alftand and test again
it should have partly fixed.

regularely quicksave
befor enter somewhere create a save file.
