If you want a like manager, use MO2.
If you want a pain free simple to use manager, use Vortex which is the NMM replacement on Nexus. Here is a link on how to install and use it.

2) it's telling you that the drive letter of the virtual install directory needs to be the same as the drive letter of the drive where the game is installed. That's because it uses hard links which don't work across drives. (a hard link is an alias essentially so that files appear to be in more than one directory without having to copy them and waste space)
^^^ This. Vortex is awesome.
And in my personal opinion, Vortex is horrible and makes no sense, last I checked. MO2 (Mod Organizer 2, found on the Nexus website and is a widely trusted and great mod manager) and NMM (Nexus Mod Manager, found on the Nexus website and still maintained by the community) work much better.
NMM was abandoned by Nexus because it was becoming harder and harder to maintain, which I imagine the community who are keeping it up to date have discovered.
Vortex and MO2 have improved quite a bit over the last year or so, and there are plenty of guides to help people learn them. And quite a few modding guides take it as granted that players are using one of them. If you are a new player coming into the modding scene start with one of these two.

Gopher's tutorial videos on Vortex are the bible for this mod manager. They're so good Vortex includes them with it.
