Did you fulfill the emperor's dying wish?
I know it's been asked over and over again but I'm curious what the recent runs decided on doing. I let Amaund live the first time around which was before Skyrim SE back 5 years ago thinking "I'm a hired assassin and I will fulfill the contract of the Black Sacrament". Basically leading the DB in the ways of the old again.

Fast forward 5 years later now I decided to kill the sleezy character and his guard. My reasoning this time around is that if he does rise to the status of higher power... He, his guard, and my guild are the only people who knew the face of the one who did it. If Amaund ever holds that much power, who's to say that what happened to the DB won't happen again? With him and his guard gone, nobody can truly point their fingers at the DB. The people will only spread rumors and assume it but never confirm it.

Also nobody but Amaunt, Rex, and my guild knew who hired the DB(Night Mother excluded). So if he were to be killed off along with his guard, nobody would know of the existence of the contract so it wouldn't hurt the DB's reputation.

Finally the emperor Titus Mede II not only took his fate like a true emperor but he also made a request for an assassination and this time around I plan to lead the DB in both the old and the new ways(my way).

The Black Sacrament contracts will be fulfilled without question and the hired contracts will be performed on whether or not the contractor and the target is worthy and if the payment is enough. So I took Titus Mede II's dying request as a special contract(emperor's contract) and was paid enough through his posession(none of which has a "steal" red highlight).

I normally do, yeah. Part because Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood is weird, they don't seem to care if you kill anyone not under contract, so I don't feel obligated to leave him alive. Part because he's a free Ebony Blade charge.

But mostly because I don't think those who claim power by assassinating their political rivals are necessarily fit to rule. I don't trust him.
There's also a bit of a Daud from Dishonored effect going on, I think, killing the emperor of a nation on the brink of war is quite a tall order, and Amaund doesn't even pay well (or he does but you're encouraged not to keep the money).

Though your suggestion that it would strengthen the Dark Brotherhood's legacy is an interesting one.

I did it, but it was less about any rational cause to do so and more about my character being a psychotic murdergirl who would take any excuse to kill.

She offed Nazir, too. And Babette. She even turned the Night Mother to ashes.

Yeah seriously the payment wasn't even good. I mean technically it is good if we're following the game's storyline but in reality it's not good because we'll spent most if not all on rebuilding(which a good guild leader has to do). We wouldn't even have to rebuild at all had the contract never existed. For me anyways, aftter rebuilding the guild I was left in the negatives of gold earned.

As to the psychotic murdergirl, I guess it's as good of a reason as any as none of anything we did in the DB is morally correct.

Anyways what does your guy's murderous character look like? I'll post mines in the original post.
