anyone help me? ive downloaded the latest version of SKSE and its still giving me the error when loading via NMM

You sure you're downloading SKSE64 for Special Edition and not SKSE for Oldrim?

I downloaded this one yesterday and had not problem launching via mod organizer 2 'Current SE build 2.0.8 (runtime 1.5.50)' http://skse.silverlock.org/
Downloaded the file manually, extracted in the folder where SkyrimSE.exe is, (do not need the srs folder, according to readme)
then launch the game via skse64_loader.exe

For my case, I can download and get to the main menu screen just fine. Then the game crashes on startup when I load one of my old character files. I can start a new game file, but I get the error message that SKSE64 is ot working properly as sooon as I get in.

You need to download the version of SKSE for AE. on the site they say "you probably want the AE build above unless you know what you are doing"

They should be finding them and that's what we tell them to do (forum search) because many of the older threads have solutions to their problem(s).

But yeah, to give an answer to 3 1/2 year old thread is a totally separate category lol. I usually just ignore them and they fall back down into oblivion.

as dead as this post is. this was actually needed haha, i was genuinely getting back into skyrim and wondered why my SKSE wasnt working. so i actually just finished work and this helped me, the timing couldnt have been more perfect
