I want Lydia to follow me again after--
Well so I accidentally told Lydia to marry me, but then I changed my mind and said "stop the wedding" at the temple of Mara. Now she is sad and when we talk, the "follow me, I need help" option won't pop up. Is there a way to get her to follow me again?? Thanks so much!

Wow, you dumped Lydia at the altar? Duuuuude, that's cooooold. I'm shocked she hasn't killed you yet.

Anyway, since you can't give her gifts or do her any favors, all you can do is set her disposition in the console.
Open the console and click on her, then type
setrelationshiprank player 3

She should be back to her old self again, but she's a sentient AI psycho, so don't expect it to stick. You may have to do that New Game thing.
That's cold, man. Real Cold.
I don't blame her for not following you now.

Only way to get her to follow is to load a save from before the wedding or from before you asked her to marry you.

I get the whole "open the console" thing, but how do you click on people once the console is opened?

You monster! Lydia was always there to carry your burdens. Now you wanna do this to her?

On a serious note though, I'd just let it be. I like to roleplay so I'd avoid load saves (unless I died or encountered a bug) and just let whatever outcome be as it is. In short, let your choices or mistakes define the character you play. Makes for a richer experience imo.

Dear God, <rolls Eyes>
If you can't click on someone after you open the console (which you can't) then click on them BEFORE you open the console.
Not wanting to be rude here, but this is basic thinking 101

I think the author is not active anymore. Afaik it is only scripts and dialogue, so maybe it'd be possible to self-port?

Anyway OP that's cold, "I know I left you at the altar but won't you return to being my obedient servant?", no wonder she refuses to carry your burdens, lol.

I killed Lydia when she jumped in the way of my arrow meeting Malkron's face.
I am not trying to be cold lol just trying to get her back. Like I said it was an accident when I proposed to her.

lesson: better think twice before you propose to someone ^^ i feel that outcome is pretty immersive, if it would be my game i would live with it, there are enough other followers availiable.

if you really want her back as a follower and you don't have a recent save before you proposed to her, you could try to reset relationship via console. obviously console commands like that CAN induce weird behaviour down the road, so to be extra sure keep a backup save.
