Face Texture Mods Not Showing Up In Game
I am trying to use the mod from Nexus, Fine Face Textures for Men SSE, but it's only showing the vanilla textures. I have SKSE 64 and have tried the following steps

1. Loaded with NMM
2. Tried manually loading twice
3. Updated my graphics drivers and set game graphics to High.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the face textures are not showing up in my game.

first, dump NMM and use either Vortex or Mod Organizer 2. NMM is not up to date and is not officially being worked on anymore as it was replaced by Vortex.

MO2 is better because it gives you a lot more protection on what overwrites what by what mod assets are in what order in the left pane as opposed to Vortex and NMM which it all depends on what asset mod you install last.
are you launching the game through the skse launcher through nmm? that can make the difference right there.

If these are loose texture files, they should overwrite any files with the same name, and should take precedence over any archived textures. However, I believe there's also an INI edit you have to do.
Find and set bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 to =0 (or it's set to 0 by default and needs to be 1 - can't recall). This forces the game to use loose files over archives.

If the mod textures have unique names and do not overwrite vanilla textures, you'll have to open the mod in the Creation Kit, select all the NPCs that were edited by the mod, and hit Ctrl+F4 and export the tintmasks and face maps.

according to the posts at that mods mod page, several people having problem to install it with NMM properly.

when you installed it manually, did you make sure you isntalled it right?

yeah, but it seems to work better because you're not launching through vanilla means.
Making sure you have the ini entries also helps so the game knows to look for modded files instead of using the vanilla assets.

Thanks for the replies. The textures are Face textures for the men. They are "malehead_msn.dds"

is it in the data\textures\actors\character\male ?

yes it is. Also, I redownloaded the file with Mod Organizer 2 and checked the correct box. It still has the vanilla texture faces.

I don't know if I need to change any INI files in SkyrimPrefs. Does this help?
