In all seriousness, sounds like you have a mod buffing your companions.
Try Adept.
You do less damage, you take more. That's all it does. This can be fine if you don't use companions (personally, I find it annoying and nonsensical, but just in terms of the balance issues) but if you have followers (or other allied NPCs like the town guard at the first dragon fight), they are unaffected, so they do the same amount of damage they would be doing at Adept, while you do much less, so they end up being way stronger than you.
Instead, you might want to look at using combat mods like Vigor, Smilodon, etc, to increase the challenge in ways that work better with followers, and play on Expert so they aren't so much stronger than you. I think Smilodon may have an add on that equalises the damage, so that both you and enemies (and followers) hit harder on higher levels.
