Would like to make toys for kids.
Game intro screen that tells you a little about the game after you start the game, states I can make my kids toys. I have tried every work bench at my house, my Blacksmith gear, and drafting table and no joy making my kids toys. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? Thanks

You need deadric smithing to make the monstrosities your children play with. :steammocking:

Joke aside, I believe in vanilla you can only buy children gifts, not make them.

The only "toys" you can "make" from scratch for your children are weapons - daggers and wooden swords. You can additionally bake them various treats, though.

Clothes and dolls must be found while adventuring or purchased from vendors. Khajiit travellers keep the largest stocks.

I can't even tell you how many kids' clothes, wooden swords and dolls I've found in Necromancer lairs.

You would not think it, but daggers can be made for them and given to them. If you have a homestead that is not in a city, the celar provides your children with a scarcrow to practice on. I am not sure if wooden swords are craftable though...Lucia seems to like daggers a lot more than Blaise does.

No saying how happy I am with the mod: Dressed Hearthfire Doll[www.nexusmods.com]...

Next time you open the game and it mentions being able to adopt children, note that the opening content also says that you can make toys for them. Does that mean we missed something, if thats possible, or misinformed? So I guess that means the little girl gets a doll while the boy gets nothing other than what she already gets as well.

So if I can buy something for him where would I go? So far I have not seen much of anything other than the standard finds.

Should have refreshed before starting that last thread. Anyway I am talking about the boy.Yes he has the wooden sward and a enchanted dager and a child's book. I guess I am asking to much for a computer game and need to keep in mind that is exactly what this is. RPG.

And yes you can make them wooden swords with chopped fire wood and a work bench.

You are really just expecting too much from bugthesda to give what they really promised.

You could always look for a mod to make wooden toy horses or something.

I think you read that loading screen wrong. It says you can GIVE your children toys.

@shellback84

Khajit caravans usually have toys and children items. Other than that: random loot, random merchandises from general traders, etc.
