Where do I find "textures"
The plain wooden chair and the plain wooden bench in my game have lost their "texture" they are "flashy mauve". Where can I find a way to repair that?
Please help me, I am old and decrepit and will soon die if that problem is not solved.

Verify your local files.

Are you using mods?

I am of course using a lot of mods. What I need is to find an original texture an a way to put it where it will override the mod that got rid of it. I don't know what mod removed the original "texture".
I'm not a modder but I can take a texture wherever and put it where it should be.
Were talking about very common benches and chairs, probably the most common of them.
Thanks for being there. . .

The problem is a mod will always over ride the vanilla texture. Even if you verify your local files, the mod will interject the faulty ones.

You need to find the bad texture mod and either find a mod that will over-write the faulty textures or remove it. Simply replacing the original texture file isn't going to work.

It will be easier to help you if you provide a sorted mod list for us.

step one check what mods alter textures
step 2 delete all mods and keep skyrim content
do a content verify
then try reinstall mods but this time without texture overrides.
befor you install mods:

beaware most mods overwrite the base game content rather then adding to it

and befor you even install a mod do this:

check detail description content and it mod needs cause some mods require other mods to work properly
check also so its a pure SkyrimSE mod since moste 32 bit ports are just bad ports and so cause broken content.
if you can not get the info you need from the mod:
then do NOT install that mod since it mostly will be broken and also break the game.

and yes modding takes research and time
only if you do research and mod requirment check and see so each mod you want by testing befor hand so they not broken on there own
then you can you try to build them together into a mod package and then its testing so you do not get a mod conflict where they overwrite each other.

if they overwrite each other its a big sign of mod conflict:
so you will need to remove one of them and choose another mod for the one you did not keep and only if you find one that does NOT overwrite a mod will you be able to keep it.
reason for this is if the mod holds script they can break each other if they overwrite each other. you can overwrite texture mods but only if they do not have any scripts!

and yes all this takes time and effort to find what works and what does not. due to the jungle of many mods changing the exact same things.

if you want it even more specific build that is even more customised then what allready exists, learn how to use the Skyrim Special Edition Creation Kit and make your own stuff

So that you can make sure for compatiblity since compatiblity between mods, is very bad in the modding community.

since each modder needs to figure out on their own on what exactly each mod alters befor useing them.

Modding might seem easy at first glance, but is actually more complex and easily can break your game, if you do not know what you are doing.

Ok so I made jpg file of the mods I have, how can I send it to you?

Since the texture is gone on that chair and that bench, I suppose the texture went when I removed the mod that modified them. Since that mod is not there anymore, I must find the "vanilla" texture. Where is the vanilla texture? No use looking at the mods I use, they have nothing to do with that chair and that bench
